    Aye, crazy stuff.
Apparently there's an insolvency expert on Newsnight Scotland tonight talking about how deals of 5p to 12p in the £ are not uncommon, however, with regards to HMRC they will not do a deal when there is tax evasion involved :)

5-12p in the pound would only encourage more tax evasion.

Only HMRC know if they will make a deal or not, the rest is just speculation (both from Duff & Phelps who said that HMRC might make a deal if Whyte was removed, and that insolvency expert).

Trust the media to twist this to sell papers.

    Our debt is NOT £140m.

    How much is your debt?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,230 ✭✭✭✭Jelle1880

Depends on the tax case outcome.

I see they already included that in their calculations, they must know things nobody else does

It could be 138m, but it could also be less.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

So full bung on the tax case could see it at 138m. How much would you say without the big tax case? 70m??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,230 ✭✭✭✭Jelle1880

I read on FF that the full number owed to HMRC could be around 93m (penalties included), so that would make the other debts less than 70m.

But not sure, since all papers give different numbers (Shocking, I know).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

93 being the big and wee tax case. the wee one is on you regardless, how much is that? 9-12m??? The big one is what, 75m? No one does know the outcome of it, but you won't get away with owing nothing on it.

Nobody says we will, but it's also not sure that HMRC will ask for the full amount.

There's always a chance they'll settle for a smaller amount.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

For sure and chances are they will do that. Without the big one though, which is what, 75m say (93m being the total HMRC bill, but including the 9-12m wee tax case) it could be over what, 40m, 50m, 60m??? Then with the BTC and how much could be owed on that.

How did it get to this? Will you support a newco IF it comes to that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,406 ✭✭✭Pompey Magnus

If HMRC are interested in using Rangers as a test case for bigger fish in England I can't see how doing a deal would be in their interest, they will just set a precedent which the English teams will use to similarly escape harsh punishment.

I don't know, at the moment I don't think I'll support a newco if it comes to that.

So when the new owners come in will they have to pay that bill, or liquidate the club? Are they the only options here?

Twitter rumour yesterday that the bid from the Blue Knights consortium was turned down by Duff and Phelps, anyone heard anything?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,230 ✭✭✭✭Jelle1880

    First I heard about that...

Taken from another site, would anyone be able to explain something here
    e7f54ad4.jpg

    UNSECURED CREDITORS

Surplus from Fixed Charge Assets 111,140,333
    Cash at Bank 3,373,170
    Fixtures and Fittings 3,907,345
    Player Registrations 7,661,456
    Deferred Transfer Fees TBC
    Football Debtors 3,804,000
    Trade Debtors 538,846
    Total 126,082,304

The last two values 3,804,000 & 538,846 haven't been included in the total.
Does anyone know any reason why they wouldn't be included?

Gimme a second, i'll just get on the phone to Duff & Phelps and ask....

How are we supposed to know?
All i know about that image you posted is that it's a screenshot from an iPad - coulad be from anywhere.

All i can assume is that the two you mention arent "Unsecured".

:) Good man, tell them they're doing a great job.
I was just wondering if anyone knew why figures would be on there but not included in totals. Maybe it's a genuine mistake

    Tommy in Glasgow saying this.

Don't ask how i have this information, but it's came into my hands earlier today,it goes live either Tuesday or Wednesday.

The bottom line is the government will not be killing the Ranjurs, they will be doing everything to help them.

A heavily reduced bill for them will be made known to the world as i say in the next few days, the circus of the blue knights, ticketus, duff & phelps and craig whyte will be all over bar the shouting come the close of play Friday this week, exactly two months to the day since they began their whole BS song and dance.

As has been heavily touted in various places,a pennies in the pound deal (CVA)for all non football releated creditors will be put in place,10pence in the pound is what will be offered and accepted.

All football debt will be carried on and will be ALL paid in the long run,eventually...

The Craig Whyte fella will pocket a cool £3 - 5million for his efforts.

Ticketus will take £10million over a period of10-15 years, they will get a reduced number of tickets each season over a 10-15year period, and over the long run, that debt will be run down.

Duff and Phelps will clear around £2-4million for their part

The Blue knights will in total empty £13million in a big fecked off pot and everyone from the florist to the face painter can take out their 10p in the pound if they are lucky.

The tax man takes £11million from the big tax case

The PAYE song and dance thingy, gets paid at the cost of only £ 5million.

The little tax case is sorted also for £3.5million.

Total tax bill £19.5million over 8 -10years or 3-5years,still to be decided.

Income for big hoose currently £35million

Out goings prior to Duff and Phelps carry-on £45million

Out goings for next season less than £20million,

    The payback will commence

Tommy has just written his idea of what will happen if a CVA is agreed.
I don't really see his point.
That's what happens with a CVA - The business in debt makes an offer, and the creditors take a decision on it being acceptable.

I know plenty of Tommy's in Glasgow but if this is the Taxi driver that is on phone in's regularly excuse me if I take anything he says with a pinch of salt. Yes maybe what he said is the sort thing that may happen but he doesn't really know no one outside of the Admin and the creditors will have any knowledge of what may happen at the moment

Basically he's making 'educated' guesses based on media reports and rumours. He'll claim that he was on the inside track if some of those claims are close.

D&P are assessing the takeover bids and trying to get new owners onboard before the judgements from tax cases are released. I dont think they are giving anything else much time at the moment tbh

Rapid Vienna will go to UEFA if Rangers dont pay the money they owe for Nikica Jelavic. They also say they wouldnt be willing to accept a CVA.
