cut springs

    just wondering do any of ye no if a car will pass the nct with cut springs? have an e30 thats due the nct shortly that has cut springs and just wondering will i have to change them. some people have told me that it will pass while others have told me that it wont.

    Regardless of whether it'll pass or not, sort out your suspension.

    Cut springs can pass the nct. If done correctly its safe.

    It depends on the type of spring, how much you cut and how you cut it.

    The problem is it is a very simplistic approach and is horribly crude so hard to answer without seeing what has been done.

    If the spring is loose or unsafe in any way, you'll have a failed NCT and need to replace them.

    like jim said if they are tight and measured the will pass i previousy had a c180 that flew the test with cut springs and welded diff,
