235 v 245 tyres

Hi Lads.

Anyone answer this. I have a 2006 Kia Sorento the tyre size is 245/70/16.. I need to get 4 new tyres for it but currently funds are tight with trying to build a house. I have 4 x 235/70/16 tyres brand new which I bought for an old jeep which I sold on but still have the tyres,

The question is could i use the 235's on the jeep or should i just get new 245's?

They'd be a little over half an inch less in overall diameter, and of course 10mm less wide, I'd use them no probs tb be honest. Speedo will over read a tad I think and acceleration will be very slightly better but nothing major. You should see no bottoming out anyway, on a low car that would be a worry, not on a Sorrento though.

Depends on the tyre of tyres they are.

The Sorrento is not really designed for actual off roading so if the 235's you have are A/T or full offroad tyres as opposed to the on road only biased factory 245's then you will have one terrible handling Sorrento.
