Selling a Laguna

    Hi folks,

I have a 02 Laguna 1.6 that isn't being driven and I'm looking to sell it on. I know that the normal value would probably be < €1,500.

The problem for me selling it on is that I rushed into buying the car over a year ago (barely driven since). The car was advertised in a garage as low mileage and newly NCT'd with the NCT cert saying there was only circa 5,000 miles on the clock (I knew this wasn't correct but didnt raise the issue at the time as the car was only €2,500). A couple of weeks later I found that the mileage had gone down and that the "certified mileage" was actually the milage until the next service. I couldnt go back to the dealer with the car as on the invoice (which I have subsequently misplaced) he cleverly wrote "Sold as seen".

My question is, due to the fact I cant possibly identify what mileage is on the car, does it have any value if I was to sell it? Would I be better off getting the car scrapped?

    Thanks in advance.

i asume in a roundabout sort of way, your trying to say your car has been clocked.

if your feeling honest you could do a motorcheck report on your car, see what its highest recorded mileage was, add on the mileage you've done and pay someone to adjust your mileage to that number.

    .

Definately no need to go as drastic as that. Even if it was just a case of getting rid, theres always someone (like me) that would give you the scrap value rather than see it crushed.

What mileage is showing now? Do you have any reason to believe that the indicated mileage is incorrect?

The electronic display that should show the milage is currently blank (and has been since I bought the car). I believe that the problem is more to do with a fault in the electronics somewhere along the line (a common Renault problem) more so than that the car was clocked.
