    hi,

The battery seems to be gone/won't open the door in my spare key. It's for a 2002 toyota corolla.

As far as I know the batteries inside are the same as go in to a watch, is that correct?

Could anyone recommend where to try in Galway for a new battery, other than the Toyota main dealers? I'd try a jewellers or something first but then again, I dont want the key to be broken either.

Where should I go do you think, should I just take the pain of going to Tom Hogans/Tony Burke's?

Tony Burke Motors are a very decent lot, I use them for servicing all the time. Ring and look for quote anyway.

No need to go to a dealer. Open up the fob and find out the battery type CRXXXX as below

    http://www.beakytrading.com/car_key_batteries.htm

These batteries can be bought in most pound shops etc.

When replacing the battery don't wait more than a minute before removing the old battery and putting the new one back in. After that it might not open the doors remotely until you use the key to start the car

I've replaced these batteries on numerous makes and models with no issues
