03 VW Bora starting problem

I've got a 03 VW Bora TDi with 275000 miles, if its left for about two or more hours it has trouble starting. When I turn the key it tries starting and after about two or three minutes it splutters and starts. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm not too worried about it but if its an easy job I'll get it done

    Cheers :)

ah, its fine. i'm pretty handy when it comes to cars but i was just clueless as to what it was. this is my first diesel so i didn't want to mess with it until i knew what it was :o

no problem. the offer still stands. it might not be the coolant temp sensor either but they are a common problem on them and cheap to replace

Why would you get rid of it without getting the codes read. It might be cheap to fix.

To be honest I think its time I've got rid of it. She's a bit rough and won't pass another NCT without a bit of work.

Going to look into renting something for the time

OK well if there is another heap of things wrong with it you might be right. I just can't stand it when people get rid of their cars instead of maintaining them.

It will be an awful shame to get rid of it. She's got mountains of service history.
Hasn't even had an engine change

Because the cars fecked. I'll be renting something for the time.
