If they use their mirrors correctly and take their time I don't see what the issue is.

    ok
    i didn't know
i thought maybe there was a blind spot
or that the passenger in the cab should direct him

Of course there are blind spots.
He can't see anything which is directly behind him.

But I can't see anything illegal with it - what else can he do
    ?

Surely by this day in age most have a reversing camera(s) around the vehicle for watching the lads at the rear ?

Most I've seen around here do have them.

Rear end loaders, ie rubbish trucks have had cameras for the last 20 years. Maybe ones that are used for just wheelie bins may have been a bit later but ones that can do skips etc have been using them at least that length of time. I doubt there is an REL in this country without a camera at this stage.

The guys at the rear are also likely to keep an eye out.

As said, they will all have reversing camera's.

But if you live on a small road or a cul de sac, what do you suggest they should do? If the drive down forwards, they'll have to reverse back out so its all the same.

I suggest this could really be a "Won't somebody think of the children" thread?

Surely, if you post a video of one of these trucks doing handbrake turns while reversing at 60km/h in the middle of quite cul de sac, this could be!

We may ask quil to make one for boards. Cameras are in place, wee only need a driver...
