    Is Tyre Fitting classed as a trade? Do you have to do an apprenticeship and all?

    Or can any jack the lad buy the the machinery and set up a business?

    It's not a trade, nothing stopping anyone setting up as a tyre fitter but if you don't know what you're at there's little point is there ;)

    well you can always learn can't you

    i'm sure its not that difficult to get the hang of, apart from the bigger stuff > truck&tractor tyres

    hi just wondering does anyone have any idea on how 2 get started as a tyre fitter. I have no experience, but looking to get a start in the industry.

    Sure you don't even need qualifications to set yourself up as a mechanic:rolleyes:

    Its like most things, saying its easy to get the hang of is one thing.....Fitting a tyre onto a rim is easy to get the hang off...but its only one part of proper tyre fitting.

    FAS used to do training modules for tyre fitting/safety etc, no idea if they still do.

    The like of the major tyre chains would be the best place to start looking.
