Hopefully they'll hold on, we hammer Blackburn Monday night, next Sunday, half 1 we play QPR at home, then Arsenal have City in London. Massive 3 weeks, including last week as well.

TBH if Sunderland hold on and we win monday night i fully expect us to win the league

What's his pass completion rate in every game for this season?

You just dislike the type of player that Carrick is imo. He's not galmorous, he has a basic job of shielding the back 4 and making simple passes to the wingers/ CM. He's excellent at that. He's the type of player that brings the best out in others and is vital to us this season. If he's as bad as you make out, he'd never have played at the highest level for so long.

No i don't think he's the greatest midfielder of a generation but to consistently overlook what he does bring to the team and focus on his supposed deficiencies is pretty small minded.

Edit: I do agree with the fact i don't think him and Clev would be a good pairing though.

He is very good at that against the non-pressing EPL sides - in Europe his possession play isn't good enough

Would have been delighted with 2 points dropped at start of game, but the way it ended little disappointed.

Still I do expect us to go guns blazing on Monday. A win at Edwood and it's good weekend

Sunderland are the first team to take points off City at home this season, disappointing that they couldn't hang on but I would have gladly accepted a draw.

Hopefully we can do the business on Monday now. 5 point gap on offer, huge at this stage of the season.

Anyone else really beginning to dislike Mancini? The ****e he is spouting at the moment, his comments are so arrogant. His latest statement after the Sunderland game "I think maybe after this game our confidence will go down, but only for this afternoon. Because United probably will draw, and we will be three points behind."

    What a knob!

Apparently he said ''I don't really know who he (Martin O'Neill) is.''

If he doesn't know who O'Neill is he sure as hell knows who Sunderland are. Those 4 points we've taken off them will be the difference between them losing the league this season!

A few weeks ago he said we'd win against Spurs in an attempt to motivate Spurs. This time he's saying we'll probably drop points against Blackburn. It sounds like he's just spoofing really.

He's not been able to manage the ego's since Jan. There was a big arguement between Balotelli and Kolorov (i think) today on the pitch with Kompany having to seperate them.

On another note Aguero has been linked with a sponsorship deal for the sequel to excitebike

Man City were only a few games away from being the first team to go through an entire season with a victory in all their home games since Sunderland did it in the 1800s.

Judging midfielders by pass completion rates alone is a joke.

I love the unglamorous central midfielders who do the simple job of getting the ball from the defenders and passing it forward. They're one of my favourite types of players to watch.

Carrick just doesn't do that job well. He has a poor first touch and so is shìte at helping the team keep possession effectively when the opposition are pressing. Most English teams don't press high up the pitch so he has time to pick his passes, but that doesn't make him good at the job. And he is a very long way from being excellent at it.

Limited players get carried in big teams all the time. Look how bad Evra has been defending for the last fùck knows how long, and he is the captain now. Carrick can defend well so he's not completely useless to the team, he is just a very limited player that we should be looking to improve on.
Look at tape and see where Cleverley played. He played where Carrick played. If you dont believe me look at one of those analysis sites like ZM.

I said already I think that they won't work together but it's nothing got to do with Carrick's limitations.

This is pointless debate anyway because you believe that Cleverley plays nowhere near where Carrick plays which means you obviously haven't being paying attention.

I've seen all the games and I've looked at the positional data from the fourfourtwo app (that's the thing that Zonalmarking uses for their analysis). Nothing in it shows that Cleverley likes to sit deep like Carrick does. Everything I've seen shows that Cleverley likes to get forward and is more comfortable on the ball than Carrick. When Cleverley and Anderson were playing together in their run of games they usually took turns getting forward and Cleverley got forward and linked up a lot. Saying that Cleverley is similar to Carrick is hilarious.

We're being linked with a £15 million bid for PSV Eindhoven’s midfielder Kevin Strootman.

    ....Says The Mirror
He’s PSV Eindhoven’s Kevin Strootman. The 22 year-old midfielder has earned rave reviews for club and country. He has appeared in ten of Holland’s last 11 games. He missed their win at Wembley through injury.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reviewing his summer transfer targets. United insiders believe a deal for Strootman is close to completion.

Strootman skippers PSV and has kept Manchester City’s enforcer Nigel de Jong out of the Dutch team. He’s seen as a key man in their bid for Euro 2012 glory.

United scouts have checked out Strootman 12 times in recent weeks.

Ferguson likes to nail his summer deals early and United have done some spectacular business with PSV in the past. Ruud van Nistelrooy and Jaap Stam both arrived at Old Trafford in major deals from PSV.

Strootman is a player with a winning mentality like United’s former skipper Keane and his Dutch sidekick Mark van Bommel.

Haven't seen much of him, opinions?

Just seen Mancini's interview on SSN ,he said he lost 2 or 3 important players, how many injuries have Utd had this season and still they are top of the league.

Just seen Mancini's interview on SSN ,he said he lost 2 or 3 important players, how many injuries have Utd had this season and still they are top of the league.

For most of the season we had the biggest number of players out, but we had players that could replace the lads who were out, and some players stepped up, Evans comes to mind, but (IMO) we have the best squad in the league, and Rooney didn't get injured which has been massive for us. And some other players also stepped up their game this season, like Carrick.

Wayne played a massive part in this season, I know its not over, but when we've needed him he stepped up, especially against the top 6, hes really showed his class and got us the win, or at least the draw.

The thing with City is that they have a amazing core to their team, Hart/Kompany/Yaya/Silva/Aguero. When you take one of them away they don't play as good, and luckily, Silva hasn't been playing well recently at all.

To be honest you've been saying the same thing all season despite Carrick being one of the best players we've had. Had he plated more in the CL i think we would have had a better chance of staying in the competition.

Sure i can see his limits but as ever you fail to acknowledge what he does well and bring to the team. He's not as poor as you make out and is a vital part of our team

Would i like someone better - sure, but as it stands there are alot worse players that need replacing before Michael Carrick. It's hilarious how much you whinge abour him actually.
