    Source seems dubious tho.....

I would've guessed it would take closer to £70m to sign them....

Never, ever, ever listen to caughtoffside. How the hell they make the BBC transfer gossip page I'll never know.

Any of us could do it. Name a couple of players each day and link them to big teams. It really is all that they do.

Funny how he is only saying it when we are 3 points ahead.

if Fergie said something similar, most of you would be loving the meaningless trolling that it is.

it means absolutely nothing, and should be ignored, or else you're falling into the trap.

Nothing wrong with fans telling him shut up, doesn't matter if we ''fall into the trap.''

If Fergie goes on a tirade or has a sheet full of facts to counter Vieira on Friday during his press conference on Friday then Fergie has taken the bait. I seriously doubt he will though, he'll just palm it off like the previous comment.

lol what trap? We know you hate these so called mind games, cunning comments and media plays. The press is going to print it anyways and people are going to discuss it anyways. I'm pretty sure most people on here know it for what it is and take it with a pinch of salt. Ice cream.

Its also a been a slow day!

    he'll shoot back i'd imagine.

he shot back at the "desperate" jibe from Mancini with the Tevez one after all.

and Trilla, "trap" is a bad word for it. but if there is one, it's the "trap" of caring what Vieira says :D

Patrick Vieira has expressed his disappointment and anger at what he feels is a serious and cynical misrepresentation of an interview he gave to the BBC.

Manchester City’s Football Development Executive shít-stirrer extraordinaire gave the interview at the annual SoccerEx exhibition at the GMEX Convention Centre on Wednesday afternoon. He was representing Football Against Hunger, a campaign to tackle starvation in Africa.

An interview given to the BBC’s Dan Roan contained what Patrick feels was a very leading line of questions regarding Manchester United supposedly receiving favourable treatment by referees. Patrick feels that his views have been deliberately taken out of context.

He said: “I am very angry with Dan Roan. I feel he has misrepresented me. I made it clear in the interview twice that I wanted to avoid criticising United and even stated that I didn’t watch the United game against Fulham and had not seen the incident to which the reporter referred.

“That part of the interview was ignored and my comments were taken completely out of context. I called the reporter twice to ask for a retraction and an apology which has not come. I feel Dan Roan and the BBC have shown a complete lack of respect for me, the ‘Football Against Hunger’ charity and Manchester City Football Club.”

Manchester City support Patrick in his strong feelings on this matter and have confirmed to the BBC that the reporter will now be banned from all Manchester City media activity.

Chief Communications Officer, Vicky Kloss, said: “Despite the Charity arranging the interview with Dan Roan for the purposes of promoting the Football Against Hunger campaign, the reporter pursued a leading and aggressive line of questioning, through which Patrick was very careful to tread a diplomatic path.

“A misrepresentative article by Dan Roan appeared on the BBC’s website a short time later which omitted significant comments of clarification and took the interview completely out of context. Manchester City promotes a positive and welcoming approach to media outlets, however it is felt, in the absence of any correction or apology that there is no option but to issue an immediate ban to Dan Roan from future media activity.”

There's a video here. The journalist was definitely looking for a reaction and although Vieira appeared diplomatic, he knew what he was up to. The crafty swine!

Ferdinand giving out about Viera on Twitter for answering journos questions about Utd, implying he shouldn't do so. Yet has no issue with Ferguson sniping at City through the press.

    Football. You gotta love it.

Deleted other post and started this one.

First of all here is the tweet "Why is Viera so concerned with Man Utd....2 comments in a week or so....c'mon maaaaaan let it go!"

Giving out? Isn't he stating that Patrick Vieira, a former player and representative of Manchester City has now made 2 negative comments in a week about his Manchester United, and its a bit much?

It wasn't clear at the time that he was answering questions, Dan Roan "misrepresented" Vieira apparently... and this only came to light later on. I have a feeling you already know this though.

Sniping? Are you for real? How was it sniping? Also SAF is Rio's boss who didn't say anything wrong and was replying to Vieiras first comment in the press about United.

Wow this is a first, a post not rushing to the defense of LFC or an LFC player in the united thread from Mr. A.

Sadly it's as boring as what he normally posts in here.

    Must try harder.

Article is clearly biased, the journalist in question is just afraid of Fergie.

Officials are responsible for United winning the league, every.single.time.

Del Piero on a free in the summer? I've always been a big fan and would love to see him at United, even if only for one season....and surely he'd be more effective than Michael Owen....

Dodgy source, but an interesting article nonetheless.

Article on the lack of noise at OT http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/sport/football/manchester_united/s/1489826_manchester-united-special-report-pump-up-the-volume

We get nearly 80k at a home game yet at times it sounds like there's only a few hundred there. The game on Monday night was a prime example.I know the match wasn't the most exciting thing in the world but the team are fighting to win the league & surely the fans can create a bit more noise.

Take the Bilbao away game, the noise & atmosphere was amazing, even in OT the Bilbao fans outsung United fans all night (I know the result helped too) but too often we get fans sitting back expecting to be entertained.
In my experience creating an atmosphere is part & parcel of being at a game. Not sitting there taking photo's of everything that moves on the pitch.

Great that De Gea stepped up after a shaky spell & all the attention at the beginning. Being dropped every 2nd game or so probably didn't help at the time. Lindegaard seems to good to be a number 2 though, bit of a waste of his talent.

    http://www.independent.ie/breaking-news/sport/lindegaard-rests-after-ankle-setback-3065937.html
Manchester United keeper Anders Lindegaard has been sent on a week's holiday after suffering a small setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.

Lindegaard suffered the injury in training prior to the Premier League encounter with Stoke at the end of January.

It came at the worst possible time for the Denmark international, who had just ousted David de Gea as United's number one keeper and appeared in six games out of seven as the Red Devils tried to stabilise their season.

Sir Alex Ferguson initially claimed Lindegaard would only be missing for a matter of weeks, however, on Friday, the 27-year-old admitted he did not know when he would be fit enough to play again.

Now Ferguson has confirmed Lindegaard has been given a break after pushing himself slightly too hard.

"He was training very well and maybe overdid it," said the United boss.

"We have given him a week off to give him a rest but he should be back before the end of the season."

In theory, Lindegaard still needs to make two more appearances to qualify for a title medal should United retain their status as Premier League leaders.

However, in recent years special dispensation has been agreed with the league for additional medals and under the circumstances, Lindegaard is unlikely to be denied.

So Nani will miss the game against Blackburn, Ferdinand is fit.

Also looks like SAF reads few forums,
It was a good claim but City could have had a penalty against them at Stoke for a foul by Gareth Barry.

"Every club gets breaks here and there, you get good ones and bad ones.

"It evens itself out over the season, that will never change."

"We had a terrible decision earlier this season when Newcastle got a penalty and Tottenham could claim the same when Mario Balotelli wasn't sent off and ended up scoring the winning goal," said Ferguson.
