    Hi guys,

I'm not the biggest expert on cars, but I'm even less informed on 4x4 vehicles. My Dad is looking for one to pull a small boat in and out of a sandy harbour in Donegal and I'm wondering what you guys might recommend? He has about 2.5k and the boat weighs about 340kg (Drascombe lugger). Obviously this will be an old 4x4, and he'd prefer commercial too for tax reasons, but it's just an old bucket of bolts that will do the job if possible.

Nice pick there, I've shown it to him, and he's now added an extra bit of criteria in that he'd want it to be commercial for tax reasons. I'll change it in the original post. Flippin' auld fella:pac:

I'd say so, with extra emphasis on the "h".

A non turbo one like! Jeeps aren't that much fun when you're just driving around.

Watch for rust underneath. 2.8 is grand for towing, it's not much faster without a trailer and they're hard enough on fuel.

Not specific to pajeros, if it weighs 2 tonnes, it's never gonna be fast with 125 odd horses.

That one looks ok, but it'd want a fresh doe with it.
