Car Ramps

    Anyone know where i could buy a good set of car ramps, i know my local auto factor had them in stock before, but seen they are something that could last a life time, i'd like to buy a really good set.


    Also, Do you have a set? should they only be used on tarmac or concrete, or could they safely be used on hard stone (very solid when gravel is brushed away)? Do you use them along with axle stands?

    I built my own, they are imo safer as they could probably support a boat in dry dock!
    Plans here, youl need a chainsaw and about 40 euros of timber/deckscrews.
    The welds could let go on manufactured ramps ,not worth the risk I dont think.

    railway sleepers are useful for this purpose,

    I'm not a great fan of ramps, prefer a big trolley jack and huge axle stands.

    I wouldn't touch them.ramps is the most dangerous things a good mechanic could use never mind some boy fancies chances it
