There was a good few 325 autos for sale when I was looking, they're not that hard to come by :)

Are you looking for M sport spec? There is a big difference between the 318 and the 320/325 so you should decide what engine you want first and go from there.

    318 4 cylinder 143HP
    320 6 cylinder 170HP
    325 6 cylinder 192HP

I would try and get a 320 at least.

Do a lot of homework and keep an eye on donedeal / carzone / adverts for a few weeks and you will eventually find one that fits the bill

This one is slightly OTT but you will find one!

I'd skip the 320 as it is a 2.2L, you might as well get the 325 with the extra power, there's only a marginal difference between motor tax & MPG. So your shoot out should be 318 v 325. The 325 will be a much nicer drive, smoother power delivery (because of 6cyl) & a bit more power on tap when required.
There's lots of threads on here about buying BMW e46, just search the old threads for various mixes of the following: BMW e46, 325, 320, 318, etc. I'd even search 5 Series e39 520, 525, a lot of the engine information is very relevant.

Thanks for the help. I think there is more 325 that are decent value out there and I would really like the extra power. That car you gave the link to is pretty nice.....maybe a little boy racer for my liking but I may go and take a look. I have been looking for about 5 weeks now but haven't really found that much but you have definitely made things clearer for me. I am going to stick an advert up on adverts, donedeal etc and see if I can get anything decent. I would like an m sport if at all possible.

That's a manual, think the OP want's auto only. Great looking motor though..

That is a beauty all right and would snap it up in a sec if it was auto. But that's exactly what I'm after. It has the cream interior and everything. Very very nice.

If I could sell mine in the morning I'd buy that. Lovely car. Anyone want to buy a golf?!
