2008 Opel Astra OPC (Laser Blue) - What's a Good Deal?

    Hi All,

    Finally settled on this being the car I want. As I have only previously bought 1 car and this was from a main dealer, it appears if I want this car I may have to go for Private Sale which is quite daunting.

    Read the stickies etc but couple of question.

    1. What would you classify as a good deal for this year OPC? At the moment prices for a 2008 Model go anywhere from €10,000 - €15,000. I feel €8,500 - €9,000 is more realistic based on demand for this type of car being relatively low. Am I way off?

    2. Also as I believe I will have to buy privately (no dealers have a blue 2008 OPC) is there merit in forking out €300 for a history check and engineers inspection with one of the car check companies? My lack of mechanical knowledge means I don't want to get stuck with problems even though I am aware that can happen anyway.

    3. Is it possible to contact dealers to see if they can search out a Blue OPC or is that just not a runner?

    Wanted to purchase over next few weeks so appreciate any help or advice.
