    Hi Antony,

Are you looking to build a full ecommerce solution (with credit cards processing) or you are ok to accept Paypal payments only? (Paypal doesn't process Laser cards)
It is not such a straight forward question you are asking as to be able to avdise one needs to know the scale of your operation. You might not fit into shared hosting solution.

Do you plan to involve a web-designer? Might it be more straight forward to contact a web-development company to see what they will advise you?

If you prefer to go on your own, take a look at Magento, Prestashop and Opencart. Those are all opensource shopping cart solutions.

    Hope this helps.

In order to process credit cards you will need a merchant account first (it is not a bank account). You need to contact your bank to see what merchant account provider they work with. When you figure out who will be your merchant account provider you will want to find a payment gateway (like Realex or PayPoint). Then it will basically drill down to find the shopping cart that supports your payment gateway without the necessity to write custom modules.

I'd rather be looking for a VPS than shared hosting as you will most likely need a dedicated IP address and SSL certificate anyway.

Feel free to send a PM if you need any further help.

    Thank you.
    Regards.
