Reluctant gearbox

Having an issue with the gearbox on an 06 Nissan Tino (Almera with a different body), mileage is 60,000KM.

Selecting reverse is very difficult almost like its not finding the gate, you really have to shove it in even after coming off the clutch a few times. 1st can be a bit hard too.

Would gearbox oil sort this or is there bigger issues. Thanks

Bearings can fail in these and maybe it is causing hard to select gears. It is hardly making a whining sound? I'd check the gear linkages first though, make sure there is no play in them.

If the gearchange is "sticky" when the car is cold but frees up a few miles down the road, then it may be overdue an oil change. An oil change would do no harm anyway but some modern gearboxes can be difficult to drain.

Otherwise, I would look at the linkage, check for play, etc. Most usually have some form of adjustment.

Update: Seems the pressure plate on the clutch was shot, sorted now thanks to Nissan Doctor and the lads at Atlas Drumcondra.
