What is it about middleaged Irish women and their pet priests? Is it some sort of status symbol to have one as an accessory, a bit like a Prada bag or a Pocket Pomeranian or is there now some rule that you have to get one when you reach a certain that no one has told me about?

No sooner did my sister hit 60 but she got one. I never did find out exactly how or where she managed to acquire him and I certainly haven't seen any pet priest shops around. So when my time comes how will I acquire my own arm-cleric? I don't want to be embarrassed in front of my friends by not having one, and my sister would no doubt gloat all over me.

When she speaks about getting him a special birthday present, I die a little inside (but with a very straight face as I don't want my head bitten off.)

Sometimes I think Ireland is the maddest country in the world.

A bizzare show today ! as for Phil Hogan - listen to Olivia O'Learys podcast - one of the most subtle assasinations of a politician ever heard on RTE ?

As for Joe - where can he go topic wise after todays show ?!
