It's a bit unclear - the charter seems to say they can't discuss the books at all but the posts seem to say otherwise.

But yeah, I'm quite happy for it to take over. Makes more sense, especially as you can have one thread per episode for the book readers.

It's ridiculous having to read everything through spoiler tags.

I don't know why they couldn't have added a [BOOKS & TV] and [TV ONLY] thread tag option to the forum.

Having read the books, discussing the show in any other context is just frustrating.
Non-readers understandably discuss what they think is going on and all you can do is shout at the screen.

I for one hope this thread stays true!

Me either - I asked this before but it seems they only wanted Television talk for whatever reason.
I've noticed some threads have a tag [HAVE READ BOOKS] which should surely be sufficient.

Anyway, this thread (or maybe a new one due to this one's length) can be used as there was far less hostility here relating to spoilers.

By rights it should be A Song of Ice And Fire forum.

Why? The show is called Game of Thrones. The books, which the forum does not concern, are called A Song of Ice and Fire.

Ah but I think the forum should allow the books to be discussed as well. Certainly it should, at a minimum, allow the show to be discussed in relation to the books - even that seems a bit uncertain.

Oh yes, I think it should. But seeing as how it's been placed in TV, I can understand them only wanting to discuss the show.

Doesn't make any difference to me as I'm glad to ignore that whole forum and just keep discussion in here if ye mods deem it so.

The books came first that's why. And yes the forum has been placed in TV, but it's been misplaced IMO. It should be placed in Sci-Fi & Fantasy and open to both books and TV show. There's a lot to discuss but we are restricted with the current forum.

Well I've no issue with discussions here - it was far more pleasant than the one on the Television forum. I'll just kick up a thread for Season 2 and make it clear it's for anyone who has read book 2. All of book 2. Spoilers only for Books 3+. I reckon that'll work?

Oh and whatever about the placing of "Game of Thrones", it's at least not as idiotic as putting Pokémon in the Television forum.

I am in favour of you posting a Season 2 thread with a restriction on Book 3+. Allows us to discuss how future Book 2 events may be portrayed in Season 2.

And as for the info about Pokemon........in the Red God's name, WTF?

    Book restrictions my ass. :pac:

If you haven't read the remainder of the books get on it!

There's a whole forum for the TV show only, so (imo) any potential new thread should be for the readers. Otherwise it's the same tippy-toeing about, trying to remember what happened in what book for fear of giving something away.

I'd envisage no need for a single spoiler tag in the entire thread, frankly.

Ser Jorah is far too good looking.
He's supposed to be short, stocky, dark, and homely.
Not tall, blond, graceful, and comely.

Despite knowing everything that's going to happen, that trailer still gave me goosebumps. Epic looking and a great choice of a backing track.

Also, even from his five seconds in the trailer, all I can think of is Joffrey's such a little sh1t :)

Really good trailer. I was surprised to hear a contemporary song, but it really works. And some chance that there might be decent battle scenes based on those quick clips

Oh an another one (aye, i'm a geek)

Meh, not as good as the last one. Personally I think they should stop with the new trailers...it's getting a bit annoying (as in START ALREADY!!!:P)

They've given Jaqen Hghar highlights instead of having on side white, the other red.

That kind of non-attention to detail annoys me.

I can understand if Tyrion keeps his nose, but how hard is it to dye half of someone's head?

I've been thinking about a Season 2 thread for the TV show and I'm now leaning towards a spoiler paradise. Something along these lines:

"This thread is for those fans who want to discuss the Game of Thrones TV show who have read the books. Not some of the books - all of the books There will be NO spoiler space required for discussion of ANY of the books. This is to allow us to discuss potential future story lines without the clutter of constant spoiler space. There's a dedicated Game of Thrones forum for those who think otherwise.
Once the show has aired in the US, that episode is fair to discuss here. Not when it airs on Sky Atlantic, but in the US. I don't care how you saw the US episode.
The only thing that requires spoiler space is discussing an unaired episode of the show - we don't want to know how certain events are portrayed even if we know what is being portrayed. "

Most people here have read all the books so it'll be nice to have a place where we can discuss matters freely.

Considering this is the Sci-fi and Fantasy forum, and not the Television forum I think it's only fair. Especially when spoiler warnings are in the title and first post :D

Huh, i'm a little bit on the fence about that:P I'm kind of half worried that a Game of Throne's newbie might stumble upon and have their A Game of Throens viewing life ruined...forever.
But it'd be kickass to discuss (and moan) about how they're potraying the second book.

By the way, anybody else thing Big J looks a little bit emo-ish in that picture. I hope they stick to the books for him,
he only appears in one book (maybe)
but he is such an interesting character.

Well I stumbled upon the Walking Dead discussion but had the self control to stop myself reading it as I didn't want to spoil the TV series.

In the same manner last Season I had to avoid the GoT discussion on boards purely as I was 2-3 episodes behind at one point.

You cannot moderate for others decisions, make it clear that it is full of spoilers and it is up to the individual to read/avoid.

Well to be honest if they click on a thread titled "Game of Thrones [Season 2] - WARNING: MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR EVERYTHING! SEE POST #1!" (or some such) then they deserve to be spoiled.
