Across the river in Graiguecullen is the "Croppy hole" where the rebels of 1798 were buried in quicklime after the battle of Carlow.

The Arts centre "Visual" is worth a look and the café there is very good for food.

What part of Cornwall are you from?We really enjoyed a trip around parts of Cornwall a few years back.

If people have transport, then the gardens at Altamont are lovely.

The ancient cathedral at Old Leighlin is worth the visit and there is a holy well nearby, reputed to have a cure for eye trouble and a "rag bush" where traditionally people hung things as offerings. A real pagan/Christianity cross over!

The Lord Bagnel in nearby Leighlinbridge is a good spot for food and "Brennans on the bridge" is an old style pub with a shop to the front. It is also opposite the "Black castle"
