I tried via their website but both my e-mails bounced back stating that I was not a member.

How do I contact this group and potentially volunteer my time and assistance?

Yes, and that is the problem, I get an automated response indicating my e-mail has not gone through.
Your mail to 'core' with the subject

    Getting involved

Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.

The reason it is being held:

    Post by non-member to a members-only list

Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive
notification of the moderator's decision. If you would like to cancel

I have e-mailed them twice now.
