    hi guys,

    in my 2nd year of my arts degree.im doin maths and i am finding it particulary tough.and the support centre i find to be of no help.was wondering does any1 know of a good calculus book or website to help me?

    Odd, I found the Support Centre good when I had trouble with Calculus. But horses, courses, etc.

    I suggest the MIT OpenCourseWare stuff on Single Variable Calculus

    They are usually pretty good.

    Thomas' Calculus is an excellent book, covers everything you're likely to need. Khan Academy is a great website, should have videos on most of what you're doing.

    I really suggest trying the Maths support centre again. But two good websites to have a look at would be khan academy and patrickjmt.

    Def go back to the math support centre. I know it can be busy at times, just stay patient and they will help you to pass.

    You should go there at off peak times when it is quiet. For example, on Mondays or Friday mornings. It's also quiet every three weeks when the first years are doing data analysis and linear algebra. You will get more attention from tutors then.

    Also make sure you go to your tutorials and ask your tutor plenty of questions.

    I would recommend patrickjmt on youtube. I find the maths support brill but my timetable/commute doesn't seem to fit round their hours & when it does its jammers which is so unfortunate as I need all the help I can get :-(
