Messed up toolbar

    I have this problem some times where the toolbar goes strange. Apps are not affected such as my browser but the odd game can be.I have done a restore from time machine with no difference. Any suggestions?

    Distorted video isn't a good sign. And it's showing up in screenshots which may suggest a problem with the graphics card.

    Has it gotten any worse since you first started noticing it? Have you tried resetting the PRAM and SMC?

    What about re downloading the 10.7.3 combo update?
    I think that resolved some graphical glitches, esp in relation to CUI being display, although I think it may have only been with OK and Cancel buttons.

    Restore from Time machine may have brought the problem back, could try a clean install

    Yeah, brav is right. If it is a software problem then restoring from TM probably wouldn't do anything to fix it. Try the combo update and if that doesn't work do a clean install.

    Does it only effect the menubar? What kind of problems do experience in games?

    Thanks for the reply's guys. I shall try all suggested tomorrow .Happens on two accounts and games can go very dark, the same if i command tab the icons go very dark.Its very intermittent.Reloading a game brings it back to normal.Also logging out and in again brings the toolbar back to normal.

    Looks like a graphics card problem. Bring it back to Apple.

    I re downloaded the combo and it cured the graphical glitches. Thanks for that.:D
