Lion help

    I need to to a fresh install of Lion.I have bought Lion through the app store now what I want to do is back Lion up to a hard drive reboot the system then point to lion for a clean install.

    But I cannot find Lion anywhere on my mac's hard drive? when I go to about this mac more info Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)

    I cannot not find it in finder- search bar or applications.
    Any suggestions? 2010 mac book pro Thank's

    Hi fox007

    If you want to do a clean install you need to boot to the Lion recovery partition. Hold "cmd + R" at startup to get there. You can reinstall Lion from here. If you need / want to you can use Disk Utility to erase the Macintosh HD first (be sure of your backup first).

    When reinstalling Lion it will download the latest version from Apple, so you need to be connected to the internet.

    If you need to erase absolutely everything on your HD (including the Recovery Partition), you can make a recovery USB stick using this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433

    If you need to you can download lion again by option clicking on purchases in the app store. When it downloads search for installESD.dmg and restore it as an image on a USB. Then command R in are start you can point it to the USB of lion
