Grrr.... those fúcking facebook things with the "Send me a number and I'll tell ya if I'd cut you open and leave you bleeding to death on a concrete slab or not" things seem to be making a resurgence on my Newsfeed.. :(

And that's why it shouldn't be used, first world problems is a dodgy enough phrase as it implies people from underdeveloped countries don't have the same desires for technology and convenience. But now its going a step further to imply that people who may be from the same socioeconomic background don't because of their skin colour? That's pretty messed up.

I think that's a bit over the top to be honest.

My head/sinuses are in such a mess. One minute my nose is running, the next one half is blocked, the next it's all blocked and I have to breathe through my mouth. This has made my lips really dry and cracked and all red around them. They look twice their usual size and it looks like I've had botched plastic surgery. Not a good look. During choir earlier my head got so blocked and the notes were so high I could feel th epressure building inside my head and it actually felt like it was gonna explode...also not good considering that we've a competition next week.

    Better get the tissues out.:(

There's so much work to do with my sister I don't even know where to start, she's missed way more than I thought. Also, second year maths is so much different than I remember.

The phrase isn't said with malice. It's a running joke from a podcast cloud and me listen to. :\

*sigh* I'm not good at college. :(

In fairness, they have said much, much worse things on that show ;)

have to write a powerpoint presentation for a module. I have no idea what to do and my group never bothered showing up to this lab.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭wnolan1992

Almost passed out in two labs for the same module today, had to leave both after 15 minutes. Almost fainted on the walk home as well... and now I have to ask two complete strangers via email if I can join their group fo a project. And I'll have to go to a lecture at 5 to sort it all out because the cúnt of a lecturer wouldn't just do what every other lecturer since the dawn of time has done and just add me to a random group at the end of the list like I asked....

I just want to fúcking curl up in a ball for the night. :(

I'm not even going to lie, project maths is stupidly easy. Its slightly more tedious in that you have to explain every line, but Jesus Christ, it's bloody piss easy compared to the old course. You don't even have integration iirc.

Galway giving the rest of us(students) a bad name yet again... The government need to look no further than this for their argument to reintroduce fees.

I remember, a few years ago, I was playing manhunt down the road. I was guarding the captured people, and leaning against a lamp post.

Then a bird shat on my head.

Needless to say both capturees were freed :pac:

College night out tonight and I decided to curl my hair since I had a day off today and it takes forever.

Unfortunately it now resembles an irish dancing wig.Lordy these curls better drop but since theres a new hole in the ozone layer above me from this amount of hairspray I doubt it!

Oh I remember those dreams... luckily I spent a year using alcohol to blot them from my mind. :)

Not again today... no energy, feeling like absolute shít... broke out in a sweat in lecture and thought I'd pass out... not sure whether or not to go to my next two lectures or just go back to bed. Don't think I'd survive a lecture in Schrodinger right now. :(

And to make matters worse, the project load has sneaked up on me, and now I'm panicking over the amount there is to do. And I wanted to have a good Charity Week, but it looks as if I'll only have one night out all that week. Grrr..... LM110, Y U NO EASY?

Me too.... Really hope none of that shíte happens here this year.... last year's went off pretty successfully (don't remember any incidents worth talking about) and was great craic... but the residents are looking for any excuse to get it cancelled on us. And to be fair, if crap like that happens then I'd be inclined to agree with them.

I don't really know where I stand on cancelling them. Whilst there were a lot of problems at WIT RAG week with the riots and what not, there was still over 20,000 raised for the charities and it'd be shame to stop that. And compared to the amount of people who took part in the RAG week events, the amount that caused problems was minuscule.

Yeah, I'm conflicted as well. Last year's Charity Week (I'm calling it that because we have to on ULFM and I'm trying to break the RAG Week habit :) ) in UL was so great. Everyone was just chilling out around campus with a few beers, watching the acts, getting involved, having a laugh. And there was so much money raised as well.

I could also see there being a lot more trouble if it were cancelled. Again, just using the UL example, this year we're having a festival type thing on Wednesday with four stages, a load of acts and a late bar. So we'll say 500 people go to that, that's 500 less people on campus rather than in the city causing trouble.

Dunno, just makes me angry that the twats out there could easily end up spoiling the entire thing for everyone else just because they want to use it as an excuse to get belligerent and cause hassle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,571 ✭✭✭Aoifey!

And even if it is cancelled there will more than likely be an "unofficial RAG week", with as much if not more problems, but no money raised at all. I know when WIT Christmas Day was cancelled there was an "unofficial" one held. The Students Union made it clear it was nothing to do with them but everyone still called it WIT Christmas Day and just as much people went out and caused trouble. I could see the same happening if RAG week was cancelled.

Also, Charity week makes it sound so much nicer and happier. RAG week has got a ring to it though.

So having waited all day for the Kanye tickets to go on sale, my phone's battery died just when they did. Took me 50 minutes to get to a PC; sold out. Probably a second night to be announced soon enough, but I'm still quite annoyed about it.
EDIT: Ohh, second night already announced, and it suits me better! Thanks MCD.

I'm more than likely going to return here tomorrow after the HPAT with a vehement, self-loathing post about how terrible an excuse of a human being I am for not nearly preparing enough. I know that the HPAT is designed so that preparation is difficult, but I should have tried more anyway.

And that will be my 500th post :(
