So I've known this girl for at least 5 years now from being in school with her and the likes, and a year/nearly 2 years ago we had something going on but that didn't go great and hadn't talked as much afterwards, but in the past 2 months we started talking properly again and we both have feelings for each other.

She then turned around at the start of this week saying we're too good of friends for anything to happen between us because she doesn't want us not to be friends if anything did :/ What should or can I do as I really like this girl deep down :/:/

It sounds to me like she cares for you, and wants you in her life, but not at a relationship capacity.

You need to decide whether you are able to do that, or would it be better for you to cut her out because of your feelings for her.

Sorry OP, but it doesn't sound like she wants anything further with you.

People usually say that if they are not romantically interested in a person. Unfortunately for you, there's nothing you can do or say to persuade her otherwise.

I'm guessing when you say you really like her "deep down", its not THAT deep. If she's pointing out to you that she just wants to be friends then she has obviously picked up from you that you want more. Which is why she's letting you know she's not interested.

It's now up to you to decide whether to stay friends, or move on. Because I don't think hanging around hoping she'll change her mind is going to work out for you.
