laptop screen issue, advice???

hello, i have a dell d620 and the screen was acting up the other day. so i have a spare system so i decided to change the screen but it was not the screen so now i think its the graphics/video card. please see video. any advice would be helpful???…

Hmmm... you mentioned in the video that the laptop worked OK when connected to an external monitor.....
so that would lead me to believe the GPU is OK, which is good.

I'd recommend checking the wiring loom around the hinge area
(usually where the wires get the most stress from opening and closing the laptop screen).
The loom is probably wrapped in black tape that will have to be removed,
and each individual wire checked for a breakage.
