    Hi,
I was in the Comp Group on facebook before but removed myself as facebook was deactivated. Trying to request to rejoin now but no reply :(

Need votes for a Facebook comp!!!

My facebook account was deactivated too and I was a member of the group, it took me ages to get it back, I too tried to get back in the group but unable, I'm very careful about what comps I enter as I feel my account was hacked

I deactivated my account as I'm sure it was hacked too,all back to normal now but miss comps!!!
Especially now when I've entered a comp for my son and desperately need votes but can't ask for them on here :(:(
If anyone admin of group on Facebook I am trying to rejoin!!!!

You must have entered one of those scam comps, like the Argos or Amazon ones on FB. If it looks like this dont enter it. Also check the URL to see if its legitimate.
    argos-2.jpg?w=640

    or you will see these:
    tesco-scam1.jpg?w=640

The woeful spelling and grammar should alert anyone straight away, by right.

    'Gift Card's'????

    'Teschos'???

    'Win !500'??

I don't enter them all either, even if its a night away- somewhere thats 4 hrs for me to get to is just not worth winning imo.

I see someone on fb won a hairdressing competition for a Dublin salon when they live in Kerry!!!
Don't think it would be worth the drive!!

It's amazing how often the same few names keep winning prizes on facebook, i've just been comping regularly since christmas and i swear one woman has won 50% of the comps  ... others are very regular winners too and they all seem to know each other. It's odd! Do they spend all day glued to facebook?

Ireland is so small so the same names keep coming up?

I've noticed this so many times and now that I run giveaways and competitions the exact same names enter every time, usually all on the same day.

I think the fact that these few people have several facebook profiles using different versions of their own name and a different sob story to fit each competition is very unfair to genuine entrants too.

Oh really? That sucks, i know some people genuinely just enter a lot of competitions and are not cheating, but to hear some are entering several times under different names is very unfair. I don't begrudge anybody but it's when i see some of them win everything i wonder what is going on! I did notice one woman was entering lots of kid related comps, and she keeps saying her grandchild is due in a couple of weeks, it must be the longest pregnancy in history :D

I think some of these people that we see winning all the time, or "Liking, loving, sharing again" (lol) have friended each other on fb.
I see when one wins, another will be in immediately with a "congrats"
I would have thought they were genuine though.

I've noticed some people respond to their alter ego on threads and competitions too. Keyser Soze has nothing on some of 'em :)

Agree though that a certain group of people will begin to recognise each other, become friendly and tag each other when a new competition comes up.

I would think that some of these folks have rooms full of prizes that really don't mean anything to them. It's the thrill of the win, I guess.

(Sorry for hijacking the thread)(Will keep schtum about it now)

HA! You should call them out if you see them responding to their alter ego, that is really effed up, or block them. I will be keeping an eye out for these weirdos ;)

I seen a kid enter loads of times with different variants of his name up, guess what? He won the iPad.

Wow, well there you go, it pays to cheat and lie :(

If anyone suspects any blatant messing about like this PM the page owner and let them know. I know if i was generous enough to be giving away an ipad i would want somebody decent to have it, or at least somebody winning it fairly. I remember something like this happening on one of the Beauty pages during the 12 days of Christmas giveaways. They discovered afterwards that one of the winners had made an alias, or something like that. It was too late by then as the prize had been posted.

Sorry too for hijacking but i think it's good to be aware of these things. Happy comping :)

Sorry but some of us are genuine people who break one simple law of entering comps [*GASP* how could we do such a terrible cruel thing?!!...Get a life!] I'm addicted to winning things- but i want em all in the comps i enter. If i didn't i'd give them to someone who did want them. I add a few other compers too so i can discover new competitions. There's nothing wrong with it like - like HOW the f**k am i doing anything wrong?! I'm promoting the businesses by entering the comps so they wouldn't care. I do have an extra page yeah - but so would ye if ye constantly entered competitions and people were complaining about their news feed being full of your updates. Do me a favour and mind yer own f***ing business!!

Sorry about the aggro but i dont approve of how ye accuse people of doing wrong when they're not...

Ill agree with you there.... Theres some people who will change their facebook names when facebook announce a prize and claim it as their own - even though they haven't entered. (Happened me..) I think facebook should tag their winners when they're announced..

WTF? Calm down and discuss things in a rational and mature manner. Nobody was accusing YOU of anything. Nobody is talking about people who make a separate page using the SAME name (while still entering only once)so as not to spam their friends. Read properly!

And then you follow it with this which is EXACTLY what we are talking about!

    whinge whinge whinge..."I'm an addict"

Addicted to competitions? more like you're greedy, just enter a competition once like a normal person. The only reason for you to enter a competition for something you don't even want is just greed.

Let's keep this thread on topic. This is generally a friendly, supportive thread, where people celebrate each other's wins and post competitions in a spirit of friendliness :)
