Had a hefty enough punt on Giants +7 and Under 59 on Bet365 works out at pretty much Evs.

Now off to get beer and food and enjoy the game. :)

    Who will win Superbowl XLVI?!

Who cares? Super League XVII has started.

Rugby League. That IS a man's sport, none of that cissy version of rugby that the Yanks strangely call football, with their players wearing leotards and ten tons of kevlar body armour.

Give me Widnes Vikings VS Salford City Reds and bloodstained shirts anyday of the week than that tosh which is coming on tonight.

While Madonna is tarting her mummified corpse across the stage tonight, just think that Super Bowl half time show used to be something to look forward to, and that so often delivered iconic moments.

Exhibit A - the best half time show ever.

Ah Rugby League, the poor man's rugby union is it. The sport with many defectors to rugby union. The poor relative of rugby.

In fairness I can see where you're coming from. You're the guy we all knew in school who was down near the bottom of the ladder and who needed to make a statement, in any way you can, to help them move a few rungs up the ladder. Its not gonna work, so jog on and enjoy yourself in the rugby league forum among the tumble weed..

    New England Patriots
My take on the game tonight:

    Giants win.

Think the Giants sneak it, 27-17, with a touchdown late in the fourth quarter snatching it.

It will be a great game I'm sure and it was very hard to see past Brady and Belichick on a revenge mission but the Giants seem the team destined to win.

It's not very often that the same team get one over Brady and Belichick especially considering the big-game circumstances but the Giants are the Patriots bogey team and revel in being the underdogs and it seems fitting for Eli to win his second ring beating Peyton's biggest rival in the house that Peyton built.

I think the Giants' rush defense will do enough to harry Brady while Eli and his receivers will be able to exploit the Patriots' awful secondary.

Belichick will have a few tricks up his sleeve no doubt, but I think the Giants and Coughlin will have enough in the tank to see off them off.

Strangely enough, I'll be rooting for the Giants tonight even though I'm a Cowboys fan and they're a divisional rival. Would just like to see the Giants win a second instead of the Patriots winning a fourth.

    Eli to be M.V.P. ;)

    Giants are not a Bogey team. Since 2000 it's 2-2. 5-5 since 1970.

This isn't 07/08 they're not massive underdogs. Actually most of the talk is about how they can beat the pats.

Also seems fitting for the pats to get revenge for 07.

oh and we're 11-3 against teams who beat us earlier in a season since 2001

Good luck to both teams tonight and I really look forward to watching a great game of football.

I have a lecture at 9 tomorrow morning, which will be used for sleep I think.

Before I've always just recorded it and then watched it in the evening, fruitlessly trying not to hear the score during the day..

    Watchin NBC pregame coverage.

Man I really feel for Rodney Harrison.

They brought David Tyree on and went through the "Catch", in tiny detail.

Harrison is almost in tears looking at it, and says "I still blame myself for not making that play to win the Superbowl for my team".

He said for 6 months after that, he considered his career, and that combined with injury lead to him leaving the game!

It shows how much that loss hurt the Patriots.

Never said the Giants were massive underdogs, but they are slight underdogs as shown by the poll and by how bookies' see it.

You're correct about the Giants and Pats' head-to-head record but the general consensus is that the one team the Pats didn't want is the Giants. I'm sure the Pats would have rather have faced the 49ers who they would out score rather than the Giants who have an offense to match the Patriots and a defense which can get at Brady.

Yeah watching it too, kinda sick of how much it's been brought up all week and having to listen to how Harrison feels bout it!

FFS....Lenny Kravitz again....had to endure him last night too....*switches to Duke game*!

Super Bowl XLVI inactives are: Ryan Mallett, Kevin Faulk, Shane Vereen, Gary Guyton, Donald Thomas, Nick McDonald & Ron Brace
SalPal reports Giants LB Mark Herzlich is inactive.

Disappointed for Herzlich considering his comeback from cancer!

    Full Giants inactives:
Giants inactives are Ramses Barden, Da'Rel Scott, Mark Herzlich, Jim Cordless, Justin Trattou, Jimmy Kennedy & James Brewer.

    Yes!

That's the reason for the whole raz-ma-taz...millions around the world see it...not just those in the stadium!

I think I'll be using the half-time show for a trip to the kitchen to restock on beer and snacks. It certainly sounds more appealing than watching Madonna with her fanny out anyway!
