Anyways if you download and run this little utility Speccy, it'll tell you what you have installed by the way of RAM\processor and graphics card.

    http://www.piriform.com/speccy
    recommended
    CPU 3GHz Dual core
    RAM 2GB
GPU AMD 4000 or Nvida equivalent

    minimum
CPU 2 GHz Pentium 4 or AMD equivalent
    RAM 1GB
GPU AMD 3000 or Nvida equivalent

Hey guys. I am currently using my laptop to play. If i was to buy a desktop what spec should i be looking for. ATM I am getting a lot of lag.

Also how good would an iMac be at running it

    Spec:

    21.5-inch: 2.5GHz
    2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
    1920 x 1080 resolution
    4GB (two 2GB) memory
    500GB hard drive1
AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB

    Or the Mac Mini

    2.3GHz : 500GB
    2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
    2GB memory
    500GB hard drive1
    Intel HD Graphics 3000
    OS X Lion

The desktop would outperform the Mac Mini Tenfold. Stuttering wouldn't be an issue on that machine

Thanks so much for the reply. I am a complete noob when it comes to pc.

How would this OR This compare.

Sorry if these are stupid questions. I just want to get the right thing.

    Thanks in advance

Is this for other games as well? Or just MC?

MC gobbles up CPU power but is not threaded so a CPU with few, fast cores is a much better plan than one with lots of slower ones. After all, MC will only use the one core, maybe two with Rei's Minimap set to utilize other cores. So a slow Llano Athlon really isn't that good unless you want to run other stuff that's threaded, and even then an i3 is still better for most things :o

If anything, the most important thing for MC is a decent web connection to avoid lag and stuttering. And if its the server itself that's throwing a wobbly there's eff-all you can do about it :o

Just minecraft really. You lost me at single core...ha. If you had a choice which one would you choose for just minecraft. My web connection is good 24mb down and a decent up.

By the by thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate any feedback.
