Quick question on VAT and buying from UK?

I couldn't find any recent threads on this, so maybe someone can help.

For example, I am looking at this.

They ship to Ireland. Would the VAT on this be Irish, or UK VAT, or how would the EU thing work? I am assuming, as it's sterling, there would be additional VAT costs etc, that would bring it up to the € price?

No additional VAT or customs charges within the EU. The price you pay on ebay is it.

    The colour of that yoke...

Well, except on website like Thomann, where they appear to be VAT registered in several different countries - hence us paying 23% VAT and, say Spain, paying 18%.

I notice it says on the link VAT inclusive, but I take it that is just for the UK, and I pay the Irish VAT rate on top of it?

Lol, you don't think it's a nice axe? I was contemplating the g&l asat custom deluxe....

Nah, you'll just pay the UK VAT as they're unlikely to be registered in more than one country. So the price you see is the price you pay.

G&Ls are fabulous guitars. I have two. I take it you're talking about a Tribute though, right?

@Ravelleman, yeah the tribute. I can't afford to go into high bucks. Bass player in band plays a G&L US bass, gorgeous guitar. I like semi hollows too, but smaller bodies, but not a thinline tele.
Yeah, it would be the AST G&L, goes for around €500.
JUst wondering are there better UK,IRE ebay stores to go to. Not discounting the bigger online stores, but just exploring all options, used expecially.......
But I don't want to have to end up paying a huge amount on top of the price (would be less hassle to just buy new....)

If they are VAT regd in UK for business then:

A sale to an Irish domestic customer would be liable to UK on the sale.

if it was B2B (i.e. you are buying it as a commercial customer) you might have to self account for Irish VAT.

I presume the former is the case and you are buying it for own private use..then no Irish VAT issue arises

i might be wrong. take professional advise or ring revenue if not sure

That's certainly what it says on the Thomann website.
