I have a Netflix trial account and a PS3 and a Apple TV

Neither of which have the Netflix option on them. Both are up to date software-wise.

Where the heck do I start?
Netflix should have came down with the Apple TV FW 5.0.1 update. You sure it's on that?

As for the PS3, I couldn't get mine til I downloaded Playstation Home. Then restarted my PS3 and it was there.

    Follow this guide; http://support.unblock-us.com/customer/portal/articles/291530-setting-up-ps3.

You'll be set up and browsing the US netflix in less than a minute.

got it set up, is there anyway to view everything on the irish site? changed to unblock-us and im wowed by even whats availible on the front pages, what is really bothering me is whats on the irish version that isnt on the us and isnt on the free uk players.

also discovered www.playon.tv its a upnp server that brings a lot of web based content, unblock us should really open it up, once off payment or subscription based.

how did you unblock US stuff?

i wish there was an easier way to find stuff too. when you view by genre or menu you dont see everything but if you search for a name of something you get more results....

its mentioned all over this thread. unblock-us.com you lose anything that is exclusive to the uk/ire nextflix though, which doesnt seem to be much.

Do what everyone is doing, changes the DNS back to default and watch on the Irish store. Then when finished change to unblock us settings again

Have 4oD, BBC iPlayer and US Netflix all running great on PS3 thanks to Unblock us, but ITV/UTV player is asking for a postcode, I tried several NI/UK postcodes to no avail, and when I try to access it via the browser it says that Internet Explorer is out of date...any ideas??

I signed up for it the other day and so far finding the selection very underwhelming but im only on the free month anyway, Doesnt have a lot on offer. Il have to give this unblock us thing a try.

The parents are considering ditching sky, and using of these

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006VTASW4/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d0_g23_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=09MATAMR3JQNKJCE6J6S&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294

I wonder if iplayer or 4od will be on there

Edit: also does any know if the sky subscription was cancelled, could you still use the sky box to get FTA channel like RTE and BBC, or would I need to get a freesat box? thanks.

I have a Sky box but I have never been a Sky customer, FTA channels but not RTE -

im loving netflix so far, one gripe is that i have to be running it on my ps3, i havent found anything htpc friendly so far, the xbmc plugin doesnt work for uk/ire, boxee isnt availible yet, cannot find any remote friendly frontends other than those, any ideas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 700 ✭✭✭nommm

This has probably been asked but if I create another fb account at the end of the month, can I get another free trial?

Is there anyway to see the whole collection on offer at the moment without signing up?

For a HTPC, what's wrong with the web interface on their site? You don't need any app and it's virtually the same...

its not very remote, or parent friendly, ive been trying to get the boxee app to install but it wont since it knows where i am

Was just about to moan about the lack of stuff on here, but now see it's the US I should be getting on.

One word of advice if it hasn't been mentioned already - unconnect it with your Facebook account if you dont want everyone to know what you're watching. A good chunk of my friends went straight to 'Diary of a Call Girl' once they got on it. Then another watched 'Swingers'. Nothing wrong with these but some wouldn't want everyone to know what they're watching. I don't want people to know the utter cheese I watch!

What's wring with people knowing you watched on of the 90s most celebrated independent films. A film which is critically acclaimed and launched the careers of some of today's biggest stars. It's a harmless feel good comedy with some deeper meaning than most modern comedies.

Didn't know that. Only watched the first 5 mins. I can't get anything to load today, tis very slow. And my Internet is fine and zippy otherwise.

I have tried reading through the thread but I'm genuinely lost on this....

Do I need a Play Station to access US net flicks or can it be done via a normal web browser?

Any nod in the right direction very much appreciated.

To get the US version your computer/Playstation or whatever has to be on US soil.....or you could try something like Unblock Us.
