    Seriously?

Not sure I 100% agree; some films are on Netflix US before they are on DVD here.
Yeah, but then you're talking about further fees for UnblockUS.

I have roughly €8 credit on my phone can I use that to pay the subscription fee?

I have a few old dollar coins that I found down the back of my couch.

Can I use these to pay for the subscription?

Sorry for posting such a question:rolleyes:, On ITunes you can buy comics from apps with ITunes credit, all I was asking is if I could use existing credit to pay on the Netflix app, no need for the Genius comments guys.

Signed up last night and also signed up to Unblock US, stuck in the DNS number on my Western Digital Live (the new version) and got both BBC Iplayer and US netflix working, some of the content on netflix isn't HD that I would expect e.g. The Walking Dead, but some is found Trainspotting on there so started watching it without issue.

Just wondering I take it that if you say used the Unblock US on your PS3 it would effect your gaming on it i.e. if playing MW3 your basically routed through the US therefore you would get into more US lobbies making it unplayable! Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks

Are ye using the above? Mine worked perfect straight away. Just uninstall the app, restart the Xbox and re-install it if you've the Irish one installed.

Could someone please help me her, i'm on the laptop.

I signed up for the free trial at Netflix but wasn't too impressed with the content.
So i bought a 3 month subscription to blackVPN and think i've set it up correctly on my laptop. But how do i now access american content??

I will ultimately be looking to watch stuff mostly on my tv through the ps3.

Why blackVPN? The unblock-us option has a free trial and plenty of setup guides and help.

If it is working you should see US content automatically.

It was recommended to me..i haven't a clue about any of this. The 3 months sub was only 7.50e

I got it working now thanks. But i'm not sure if i'm using unblock-us or blackVPN:confused:
I installed unblock-us without having to give any credit card details and it's on my toolbar as disconnected so am a bit confused.

It's now working on the laptop. Will i be messing things around to get it to work on the PS3? My partner plays MW3 and i don't want to f@@k anything up for him.

No it's not a VPN. It uses a DNS to trick certain websites only. Basically a DNS tells your computer the ip address it needs to connect to when you type in a site name. For example when you type "boards.ie" into your browser it goes to your DNS and says "hey I need the address for boards.ie" and the DNS comes back with "89.234.66.108" (if you type that it to your browser you'll get to boards btw). I'm guessing that unblockus have some sort of proxy site for the sites they support so when you type netflix.com the DNS instead of giving back the address of netflix gives an unblockus proxy address and your browser knowing no better connects through that.
The advantage of such a system is that your entire traffic doesn't have to go through their proxies as they can hand back legitimate IP addresses for most sites so it lightens the load in comparison to a vpn which all your traffic goes through.

tl;dr? No your games will be unaffected.

BlackVPN would be useful if you use sites not supported by unblockus. The setup to use a vpn with a console though is much more work...

Just set this up now and using the us account on my iPad no bother but my apple tv is telling me Netflix is currently unavailable please try later , my apple tv is on 4.1.1 and jail broken , do I need to update it and can I update keeping my jailbreak ?

I've the US store setup on my ATV and Irish store on the 360 - cracking service and a genuine alternative to torrents. I'll gladly pay the €7 per month provided they keep the content regularly updated.
