Can you get on the internet with a ps3 (I dont own one)? If you can point the browser to http://check.unblock-us.com/ and enter the email address you used..

Great that seems to have worked! :)

That's the good news... the bad news is that it seems that we will indeed all have to pay for this service after the trial period ends. Stlii 5 dollars a month for access to Netflix USA and Iplayer etc is pretty decent.

Big difference in the viewing line up.

Cheers for the heads up OP............

Nice. I feel no sympathy, 360 still doesn't seem to have Iplayer and I have to pay for xbox gold live..:P

Anyone having trouble streaming from Netflix this evening. I am now using the US Netflix but i got this up on the screen 3 times aswell this evening when it was on the Irish set up

We're having trouble playing this title right now. Please try again later or select a different title.
If i click ok it gives the option to resume playing and it plays away fine again...

Glad to hear you got it working. It's a shame it isn't free but $5 I can live with. It's so convenient as well. I've used VPNs before and had to turn them on and off for different territories. With this it just works, not matter where you are trying to connect to. So convenient.

Did that but get 'ethernet - not connected'

When you changed from DCHP to Static, what exactly did you change, & from what to what ?

I understand even if fields are to be left the same, you need to overwrite them with the same (eg no. of characters 24)

Did you only change DNS & leave everything else the same ? I've tried many combinations but with same negative result.

I'm directly connected by ethernet to Revue

I'm not home to check but from what i remember just assign a new ip number that you are not using eg.192.168.1.??.The gateway is the same number as your router default setup no. and then i think just copy the 2 DNS numbers from the link and there was something set to 24....??
Are you using lan cable or wifi.....Mine is connected with lan cable so not 100% what the wifi setup is without checking link again..

Might be missing something but i think thats it!!!!

thanks to Adox and Sparrow I got this working last night and enjoyed Troll Hunter on the usa version.

My questions: i) when my trial is over will I be paying the irish price of 6.99 to access the usa netflix?

ii) I did the changing dns thingy mentioned by sparrow to access usa netflix (and iplayer etc) and I see now this will have to be paid for (5$ is grand) but I never signed up for anything? Is it a rental fee to use that dns number(s)

iii) I setup a new uk psn account but no sign of iplayer, 4od, itvplayer yet and my system is up to date?

    thanks

I dont know but basically I setup an Irish account, changed the dns settings as outlined in the link posted by the sparrow (i think) and when I relaunched netflix held select and start together to reset and used my irish username and pw which granted me access to the us netflix and no problem accessing films on there.

Yeah, you pay €6.99 a month. Your account and CC details are in Ireland. If you travelled to the States I`m pretty sure you would be able to use the US Netflix store when over there.

If yu scroll over to where your Netflix icon is, scroll up from this and you will see a rainbow coloured icon. Click on this and it will bring up banners for iplayer etc and you can download them from there. Just make sure you are signed in to the Playstation store under your UK account. You will know if you are, as there will be a Lovefilm icon that appears beside Netflix automatically.

Once you have them downloaded they will show up, no matter what account you are logged in under, i.e. if you login under your Irish Playstation account you will still have iPlayer etc there on your home screen.:)

I watched Battle Royale on it last night and was hugely impressed..

.. definitely will keep up the sub of €6.99 a month I reckon.

Lots of stuff on there that I'd never have heard of - couple of documentarys mainly.

Agreed defo worth 6.99pm I watched Misfits and breaking bad on it last night and picture quality was amazing , Ok the content is not the best in the world but there is some up to date movies on it like Drive crazt and Blitz and as previous poster said some great docs on that I have not seen yet overall I was very impressed

Yeah I was very skeptical at first. The UI gives the impression there is a lot less content than there actually is. Its a bit of a chore to find some stuff, but certainly plenty of hidden gems in there. I`m going to let the subscription run for a while and see how much I use it.

What I`m finding most impressive is the quality and consistency of the streams.

Is there a big difference between the american versions library and the Irish Library? I mean, is it worth going through all the trouble to create an american account?

There is a huge difference and its really one of the easiest things to do to change your settings.

    OK,I'm lost!

I changed the settings and "seem" to have US netflix (I think).
But I never signed up for unblock US,just changed the settings to their DNS.

How are people getting it to work without signing up to UnblockUs??

Its a free 7 day trial without asking for CC details. Sometimes it will ask for an e-mail address, it did on my Mac.

Yeah, I am definitely in the uk store, I have the netflix and lovefilm (btw is this any good, must see if they do a trial!) but when I scroll up there is nothing there. I looked to see if I needed an update but I dont. I'll try it again tonight. thanks for the help.

I reckon I'll be keeping it going too seeing as its a rolling contract and at 7 + 4 its a pretty good alternative to sky go which I currently use for movies on the xbox.

I know there's a lot of repitition on the thread, an I'm not trying to add to it, but I am getting slightly confused now.
I had previously registered for the Irish Netflix, I've followed the instructions Sparrow has posted and now have the US version on the PS3 and the Irish version still on my ipad. So far so good - everything seems top be working perfectly and I'm going to try the UK PSN account thing tonight to get the Iplayer etc.

    My question:
Do I need to sign up for 'US blocker' after 7 days - if so how much is it and is it available through the same link Sparrow originally posted?

    Ditto!

i hope we can get an answer to this... :(
