Pretty crappy then. That would have been the main attraction for me. It's all too easy to just stream new episodes from other sites.

Not really. With Netflix you've got a consistency you don't get on those other sites. It's just much much easier.

Always hated using 'those' streaming sites (ages back before I started downloading stuff).

Is there an app for the Touchpad?

It looks like Three have blocked Netflix on their mobile network.
You get an error (1003) as soon as you try and begin watching, tried it in Bray and Dublin city centre.

I am on a billpay so called £all you can eat data" plan

No problem on a VF phone

Dont blame them. People constantly using this would cripple their network

Don't know if you waited around for the answer in the Three forum, a few people seem to be having that 1003 error.

Folks, I don't think this is location specific, nor is it an issue with the network as if it was, nobody would be able to access it. Can you all confirm what devices you're using to access the internet?
As I've said in numerous thread today, Netflix is not blocked. I have asked for more information in the first Netflix thread I came across.

    Hey Guys!

Its great to see there is so much interest in All you can Eat! We're constantly trying to revolutionize the mobile industry and today you can see the latest fruits of our labour!

To answer some of your questions:

Is there a fair usage policy?

No, All you can Eat means All you can Eat! After you reach 15GB, we reserve the right to use Network Management Techniques but there will be no out of bundle charging.

On the basis of that you should be allowed use Netflix and staying within that limit you should be fine.

This does not work abroad; (unless you're in a country where it's sold I assume) you'll need to use a VPN. That would have been the decider for me as I travel a bit with work :(

Have you tried using it with Expat Shield? It's a free UK VPN but you'll need to install some ad blocker with it ;)

15GB is "all you can eat???" What a bunch of Gob*****s! Im already at 30GB on O2 with 11 days left thanks to the NFL playoffs. Had to add another 30GB today

WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF YOU GO ABOVE 15gb depends on their "Network Management Techniques". Could mean streaming is curtailed either by speed or duration

Considering there's childrens content, is there any parental control to prevent them from viewing unsuitable material?

Got this from Ciaran B in the Xbox forum.
You can change the DNS settings on your 360 to get access to US Netflix content. I had to delete and re-install the netflix app. after doing it but it works really well. So much content *drools*. I don't think it will work forever though

AFAIK the answer is no. This may have changed since September, but last I heard there wasn't one and you couldn't open in a browser due to silverlight issues

Was using unblock to view Netflix all day, it stopped working on my revue an hour ago. I don't know if it's some other glitch or if it's being blocked.

Set up Netflix on my Wii (after blowing the dust off of it;)) and had it working within two minutes. I'm on Vodafone at Home 8mb and it streams to the Wii and iPad simultaneously flawlessly. Buffering is only about five seconds. It is also much easier to avoid the Facebook login/sign up on the Wii.

Selection is not superb but there are some great classic movies that will keep me going for the length of the free trial.

I have a bit of a problem logging into my Netflix account. I joined with facebook, which was grand and works fine if I am on my PC and click Login with facebook. But on other devices I have no idea what my password is.

I assumed it was my FB password but that doesn't work and I'm being told there is a sign in error because my email and password don't match. And I can't change the password without knowing it. Normally, I'd just rejoin with a different email, but I can't do that as I have only one credit card.

When I try and reset my password as if it is lost, it sends me an email and tells me to click on a link to do that. But when I click on the link I'm just taken to the front page of Netflix where new users sign up.

Very irritating. Anyone have a solution?

You got two emails when you joined, on one of those there is a link to set password. It's not the most obvious thing in the world

    2 Touchpads and a Pre3 :)

I might install Android on one, there must be a neflix app on Android, right?.

I didn't do that at the time because I wasn't thinking straight and was able to login with Facebook. Now when I click that link to change my password it just takes me to the netflix front page like the reset password link.

    There are parental controls.

To what extent, can you elaborate please?

For instance, can I give my kids a login, and all they see are programs/movies appropriate to their age? e.g. PG and below.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,614 ✭✭✭The Sparrow

Thanks all... Rang them and they reset my password. Good service, I was barely on hold at all.

Also rather asewomely, I realised that you can do the same thing posted earlier for the Xbox on a PS3! Just follow these instructions:

    http://support.unblock-us.com/customer/portal/articles/291530-setting-up-ps3

So I have full access to the American Netflix site... There is a lot of content!

    VERY VERY annoying.

I got stuck in the same loop, couldnt log in on ipad/ iphone/ XBMC.

Disconnect/ deauthorise facebook from within the netflix.com account settings page.
Logout of netflix, log out of facebook.
Use the reset password link on the netflix front page, enter the email you use to log in to facebook.

It will send you a link to set a new password.
Follow the link and it will allow you to now set a login passoword. YOu can reconnect FB afterwards if you wish, but I couldn't be arsed.

It's a lesson learned... Never joining anything using Facebook again. Complete pain.

Thanks for the PS3 link Sparrow, my xbox is out of commission at the moment.

After you enter the DNS, do you just reboot the PS3?
