Signed up last night and set it up using Apple TV (don't y'all be hatin' now)

Anyway, the selection is reasonable. Plenty I would watch but I could see how others might not be satisfied.

My problem was that every 2-3mins it was pausing and buffering for 10-15secs which is intensely irritating. I have 50Mb UPC internet and regularly stream from itunes in HD so don't think its my internet connection speed? Any ideas?

If it will stream properly I'll keep it, if not I'll ditch it come the end of the free trial.

Take a look at the apple media devices forum. Other ATV users are having issues with Netflix. I'm using the service through Xbox and iPad and it streams HD with no buffering on UPC 25MB ( wireless connection to both). I have highest quality ticked too in Netflix settings.

Signed up for this last night. I am on UTV Internet with a 3mb link. Found the PS3 Netflix icon on the PS3 and installed the App within a matter of a couple of minutes.

The streaming works perfectly through my PS3 - very little lag in starting up movies. I also tried it on the iPad and it worked fine. Interestingly I was also able to use both the PS3 and iPad at the same time to watch two different movies without hitch or lag.

I also tried viewing a movie on the iPad while WIFI tethered to my three 3-pay Samsung Europa mobile and was surprised at the quality - slightly pixelated but watchable.

Content is ok - Plenty of stuff for kids and a good few movies/ TV Shows worth watching. Will be interesting to see what else will be added by the end of the trial period as I'd say there will be a lot of people discontinuing the service if they don't add more content.

Having said all that - probably worth €6.99 a month (if you can afford it).

It looks like Three have blocked Netflix on their mobile network.
You get an error (1003) as soon as you try and begin watching, tried it in Bray and Dublin city centre.

I am on a billpay so called £all you can eat data" plan

No problem on a VF phone

Same here. Those dirty SOB's. Time to fire off a few emails.

Surely they can't have that much say over what we use our "unlimited data" connection on. I mean, it's all LEGAL content after all.

Their network. I'm not surprised to be honest, they'd get hammered if Netflix was allowed on 'all you can eat'.

This is just the start of it....

Well, I sent them off an email all the same. Hopefully they will give a half decent response.

TBH, I wouldn't use netflix on my phone that much at all. The only time I would have a chance would be when I am travelling and since the Three network is so poor in places (I lose data connection at least three times on the way home, and in one spot I lose signal entirely... Dublin area.) that I wouldn't be able to use it even if I wanted to.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy this through xbox using microsoft points? I've loads of points loaded on my xbox that I use for movies but I think I'd rather get this instead but have already bought and applied the points to my account

It's all limited to a 'fair usage policy' so their 'all you can eat' is no different than other providers "unlimited" and so on.

Everything has a limit, regardless of their slogans.

It's just 3 being shíte, as usual.

Set Netflix up last nite, Wii . not a bad interface to use on. streamed perfectly on 3mb vodafone (yes i said it worked perfectly )

might want to watch my 40gig limit if take it up.

Selection is a bit crappy , but some stuff I will watch over the free trial period.

    So 2 questions arise.

is the free trial limited content limited or is that the content that's just available now and will be expanding

Can someone else log in on my account from another location.at the same time as me (another family member, why pay twice)

Ah, never thought of trying it on the Wii. Is it easy to set up?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭Joeface

aye it was , Wii store down load free netflix thingy

sign in , select movie and play .

    took about a min

Only thing i found annoying was the wii remote to point an select. its quicker just point the controller away from sensor and use the arrow keys.

I wondered this myself, and I can't find any info either way, but I think that you get what you see! Eg, the full catalogue is available for you during the trial period!

From what other people are saying here, it is possible.
I myself had a show running on my PS3, and started another show on my laptop, which ran fine too! So it seems to be possible, though I didn't leave the second show run for very long!

Works great on the Wii - quality is excellent on a 46" LCD.

It works like Sky Player, you have a certain amount of devices allowed access to your account at any one time.
So if you and a friend want to go halves, you each get (I think) 2 devices each.
They don't check IP addresses, because:
    1. mobile device access
    2. you might want to access your account at work if you have a long lunch break.

They might do what livefootyonline do, if two people access the service at the same time from two different IP's they cut you off.

Well another good thing about netflix is

if your like me and dumping sky for saor + freetoair , for 6.99 a month its handy to have for the odd movie or tv series that ya missed.

must see if I can add a netflix channel to DSI.... just for the hell of it :D (prob not)

So far I'm impressed, watched Nurse JAckie last night and I was thinking of buying the box sets as missed it on TV

The selection of films isn't too bad. They're pretty old films but still well worth a watch.

As for their TV Shows, the selection isn't bad. The only problem is that hardly anything is up to date. Everything I checked was at least 3 seasons behind.

This does not work abroad; (unless you're in a country where it's sold I assume) you'll need to use a VPN. That would have been the decider for me as I travel a bit with work :(

Don't expect that to change. It's the same on the US service.

Pretty crappy then. That would have been the main attraction for me. It's all too easy to just stream new episodes from other sites.
