Living out in sticks down sunny south east bb comes in wirelessly (skytel cant fault it ) to a Lynskeys wrt54G router . Santy brings kindle and ipod touch . Get router wireless configed, only thing is it is located in flat roof extension off old farmhouse (thick walls )down at one end . Have done you tube with tin foil, beer can reflectors etc - is there any handy bogger proof way of strengthing , repeating it further into the house. Electric wiring is probally fairly crap for one of those plug in thingys . Would taller antennae make much of a difference.

No, a better antenna won't fix it, you cannot defeat the laws of physics, there are thick walls blocking the signal, there's nothing you can do. Best off running a cable to another wireless access point the other side of the house (make sure you set it to a different channel or it will interfere)

Many thanks for reply - do I just get long cable from spare ethernet port on present router to a wireless thingy inside in main house or split before router? Also whats the name of such cable and wireless yoke .

You need an ethernet cable, here's a 20m

You also need an access point:

You need to be sure what channel each is on so they are well away from each other and don't interfere

Have purchased same ,have tried to research how to yoke up ,including changing of channels any good places to look ?
