I've been hearing this Curry's / PC World are closing rumour for the past 8 months..

.. I'll believe it when I see it!

Currys and PC World are all the one outfit, but you are kinda right in what you say, they are closing one down and joining the two shops together

There was an article in one of the papers a couple of weeks ago about this. I think it's to do with the rents being raised.

how can easons be blamed here? conways shop just up the arcade sell loads of cards along with tesco which are just as close..

well easons, conways, tesco all sell other things too. it always helps if you can get other bits and pieces(papers, magazines, lotto, sweets...)in the same shop..i could imagine that just selling cards, gifts and candles wouldn't make enough to survive.

Cafe Society has a big banner across the front of it saying 'Happy Eater'. What's that about?

I've eaten there a good few times now including today and always found it good. No complaints. Don't know what the happy eater is about though.

They're still advertising Smash Hits playing tonight on their Facebook... they posted it about 11pm last night, so assume they're still open.

I heard the building owners came in and changed all the locks because they were not getting rent paid and that the managers didn't pay the girl who won Sligo's got Talent the 10k prize money either.

Building owners hired a manager to take over until they can make back some money and then it will be closed again as I understand.

    That's unfortunate..

.. used to regularly buy from there when it was at Market Cross, but rarely found anything of merit in there as of late (certainly not once since they moved into Quayside).

    Shame nonetheless!

They were in Johnsons Court. The rest I agree with.

I used to buy in there and River Island but the state of the clothes now. I mean this in the nicest way possible but all of the t shirts have gone kind of...feminine. Long v necks with buttons aren't exactly my style

I always thought the a lot of their gear was a bit that way alright. Got some nice jeans in there recently, would have bought more if I had known they were gonna close.

Pull & Bear is mostly the same type of stuff anyway.
