By studying how lizards leap and use their tails to stabilize themselves, scientists deduce that raptors- such as Deinonychus and Velociraptor- would have used similar tail-tricks, but would have far outperformed even the most agile tree-dwelling lizards!

I suspect that as they were also said to be warm blooded, and possible bird ancestors, it may be more to the point to compare leaping with the ability of birds to leap.

Just my own thought on the matter, I am not in a position to criticise.

Except that raptors, unlike birds and like lizards, had a large muscular tail... I don´t think birds would be a good comparison in this case...
