aliens - what if they did arrive

why can i see that if we do ever make contact with Aliens that it will not go well ?

if they do not look , sound and act like us then surely there will be some people that will not accept them ?

taking for example racism - we are all basically the same bar a pigment in the skin and yet some people go to extremes to hate .

suppose small grey alien with a big head turns up - can you imagine what the response will be .

thoughts ?

This unlikely scenario has been documented before in shows such as V and Alien Nation. Basically all kind of mad sh*t goes down and maybe even make us realise that none of us are so much different afterall - and there'll be all kinds of parallels with apartheid etc.

they would be kinda similer to us i guess. seen it on a doc few years ago.

2 legs as its easiest to walk on (see evolution)

ditto for digits on hands.

eyes would be roughly the same too, maybe bigger maybe smaller depending on home world conditions

as for why they would be here, peace at first ... then i fear the worst what advances would we have that they would want that they couldn't just take from us?

If aliens turn up, obviously they have far superior technology to us, and therefore it is not a question of us accepting them, but of us bowing down to our new overlords.

A lot of people have problems with new arrivals who have dark skin, speak a language other than English and don't go to Mass or at least a Protestant service.:)

I'm sure they'd want to re-educate us. They'd wonder why half of us are starving, a huge proportion of us waste our time in pursuit of a god, why we spend our time lying down watching other people lying down or producing a rank sort of popular culture.

We should hope to feck they are nothing like us. The things we do to different species for profit is abhorrent, skinning animals while they are still alive etc. (I assume everyones seen that youtube link. Yuk)

Dont get me wrong, I eat meat... its too delicious not too, but I imagine a slaughter house to animals is pretty much how we would experience a scene from the 'alien' films where there are people strapped to walls waiting for a xenomorph to burst out of their stomach.

It would be a big mistake to assume that advanced would also imply benevolent.
