    There were nearly 85000 T34's build.

    And loads of WW2 tanks ended up in the middle east, where Israeli Shermans met Syrian Panzer 4's and StuG's.

    It's a ceremonial thing. The Russians often drag out museum pieces for their commemorations. As the parade commemorating the end of the Great Patriotic War, they pulled out the old vehicles.

    Not just the vehicles either, the parades usually have soldiers in period as well.

    As a nice touch, they even drag out the old trucks to transport the veterans.
