So, made my first purchase of an item from eBay on Tuesday. The person had 100% positive feedback and nothign looked odd. Now, I paid for the item, the payment went through etc. I came back online today, incase he had got in contact with me, but, he had took the ad down, and there was now no receipt of the purchase of the product in my account as a result. I still have the receipt thing on my paypal, so I have messaged the seller there now, to see whats up.

So I'm wondering, has this person tricked me, or did he take the ad down as I had bought it (he had more than one of the item so I'm suspicious). It's not a huge amount of money, but it still doesn't seem to be a pleasant site if I have indeed been fooled on my first try!

Thanks for any input/ideas people put forward.

I am a bit confused by what you mean by taking the ad down.

I suspect that maybe all his listing have finished. Often sellers have all there listings end at the same time.

Is the item coming up as dispatched in your my email under recent purchases?

eBay have removed the listing, that's the only way for it to disappear from you "My eBay" control panel. Start a Paypal dispute to get the money back.

    Hi Op

Can you give us a link to the sellers feedback page?

Other than this start PayPal dispute asap

Maybe, maybe not. Having an auction disappear is not a good thing anyway, so start the dispute in Paypal and see what happens.
