He was already in poor form when we bought him off Liverpool.

he had 9 league goals in 5 months at liverpool, he has 3 league goals in 11 months at chelsea, look at the goal he scored against blackpool e.g there, that was january of last year, doesn't look to have lost any pace to me

I don't want him back. What remains of his career should be left to fester, as an example to other players who think they'll get the support and adoration that they get at Anfield anywhere else. Maybe Torres's unhappy experience will make Suarez realize what he may give up if Chelsea or Man City come in with a bid in 18 months time.

Besides that, the sums don't add up. 25 million pound + crazy wages could get us much more bang for our buck than Torres. We'd be looking at Cavani, Llorente, Soldado, Podolski, perhaps even Higuain or Villa may be available. They make much more sense, and gel in much more with the owners' direction than going for Torres. Unless it's some sort of loan deal or seriously cut price, it doesn't make sense to me.

If he comes back, fine. I'll hope he gets his form back and scores a tonne of goals. But I won't be singing the Torres song or planning on naming my firstborn son Fernando, like I used to!

On Torres, I was as pissed off as most when he left, but "IF" he was to come back, I think the system we now play would suit him and he would have a better chance to find the form he had under Rafa.

With saying that, do I think Kenny would bring him back, just like he did with Rushy, probably not.

Torres flopping thus far at Chelsea will have zero effect on other players decisions to stay or go IMO. Plenty have left and been successful elsewhere, they could just as easily look at Alonso or Masch

Of the above listed alternative's, how many are realistic? Noneif any IMO

Yeah, I want him back but I think Kenny is way too proud to consider it.

Get on the hype wagon! :)

I don't care if he's been out of form, I want him back! He's had a pretty rough time at Chelsea but even when he was playing poor for us he still got goals.

    Bring him back Kenny!

Higuain's out of favour with Madrid, Podolski looks set to move in the summer, as he's stalling over a new deal. Cavani might be tempted, seeing as we have Suarez and Coates. Llorente and Soldado won't be on mega bucks and neither club is in a position to refuse big money bids.

They may be optimistic, but I'd rather try for them than settle for an injury-prone, out-of-form, sulking past-it. And that's ignoring all the massive baggage surrounding his time at the club and the manner of his departure.

In the cold light of day, with the 2 year old memories of the old Fernando Torres put aside, the 2012 Fernando Torres is not worth the risk or the hassle.

Nonsense Kenny will do what's best for the club, his ego never will never come into it.

Now Podolski is a player I would absolutely love to see in a Liverpool shirt. He was hopeless when he left Koln the 1st time for Bayern but he has been in good form this year and last, looks to have a lot more about him.

Could really see him doing well in the PL and could form a good partnership with Suarez or Carroll.

A lot of them will in all likelihood have more attractive offers though, ie CL football. What I would hope is that the club look at players like these though, as oppose to focusing on Premiership proven English players

Up until the Wolves goals none of those goals were taps ins and he still looked world class...WTF did Chelsea do to him.

I don't think Owen was as a good as Torres. I'd put Torres and Fowler on level par. However, all their careers seem to be following a similar path, prolific when they were younger and their careers faded around the age of 27. They were most successful when they were at Liverpool and never reached the same heights with another club.

I don't think Chelsea will let Torres leave, I am still undecided whether I would welcome him back or not. He brought some great memories to our club.

Our best team over the last few years had a back bone of Reina, Carragher, Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard and Torres. The only one that features in the team on a regular basis now is Reina. We would still challenging for titles only for H&G dismantled the squad, and we are now very much a team in transition.

With regards to Torres a great saying comes to mind

"Start wide, expand further, and never look back."

I felt Torres played his best with Gerrard behind him.

Their is no chance of that partnership happening again since Gerrard is a crock now.

Alonso is also gone so Torres if he were to move back he would be joining up with a significantly weaker Liverpool side than the one he played his best football with.

Why waste 20 odd million on Torres. The bloke made his decision and he can live with it. You just don't leave Liverpool for Chelsea!!

I'd rather see the money spent on the likes of Roberto Soldado of Valencia, someone who is actually capable of scoring on a regular basis!

Nothing naive about it at all.

Managers hold grudges. They are people.

It is naive of you to think Kenny would not be affected in the slighest by such things.

Rafa certainly was when he refused to sign Owen on a free.

I think he refused to sign owen because he knew he was finished, which proved correct.
