Anywhere to buy a good Christmas Hamper?

Hey guys,

I was looking about for a distributor of good christmas beer hamper (not necessarily consisting of just christmas beers) that would send to Ireland on the relative cheap and all I came across was these guys in England.

But shipping it to Ireland alone is nearly the cost of the hamper ( around 20 of her majesty's currency).

Does anyone know of any??? I live in England, heading back next week, and I was hoping that I could order one online without much hassle. Any and all help would be massively appreciated.

You can order from Deveney's, DrinkStore and The Beer Club. They seem to cover most any price range and variety, and all are approachable if you want something specific.

I don't know if you only want an online order but last year I went into Redmonds in Ranelagh and they helped me put together a custom hamper.

Oh that could definitely be an option, but I'm a bit tight for time so I thought an online order would be more convenient. The beer club have an Irish Craft Brew selection but I it doesn't tell you what's in it (I've emailed them to clarify). I missed the Irish Craft Brew fair this year, on account of living in the wrong country, so I'm a little uninformed on my Irish Brews. Are they any Irish Brews (of the +6%'rs that are of the dark beer persuasion) that I should be looking out for?? I am not a fan of the porterhouse's selection, too much imitation not enough innovation.

O'Hara's Leann Follain is a 6.5% stout and possibly the best Irish stout on the market.

Eight Degrees also have A Winter's Ale which is a mulled spice dark beer at 7.5%.

There aren't many Irish beers like the Porterhouse's Celebration or Brainblásta knocking around. And Oyster Stout is damn near unique.

Above 6% ABV, apart from the two mentioned above, there's O'Hara's Leann Folláin, 8 Degrees Winter's Ale (if there's any left; I heard it was selling fast), Guinness Foreign Extra and Special Export, and I think that's it.

I find the oyster terribly bitter (the same with the guinness foreign extra) and their chiller is far to sweet. I do appreciate however that everyones opinion is different. Also I think they've done a great thing for Irish beer by adding variety and making it commercial. I prefer the BrianBlasta when I'm at the porterhouse in Covent Garden.

Also thanks for your suggestions. I've already been on to a friend back home and put him on a mission to get the 8degree Winter Ale before it sells out. Will let you guys know if I'm successful, and if so how good it is.

All Gifts do hampers but they can be quite pricey! Also check the dates, its possible that for many businesses the closing date for xmas delivery has passed
