I'd go with O'Donnell on the bench, better player than Holland in my view. He's a strong ball carrier, and could provide a bit more impact off the bench. Holland is solid, does the basics well, but if we are going to take them on up front, O'Donnell would give a bit more impetus.

He can also cover 7 if needed.

I'm a TOD fan too, I'd have him over Holland. But:
Yeah I know what you mean it had been at least 7 days since we had a serious injury to a key player

I imagine MOD will come into the match 22 though it really should be Nagle

I think MOD will come in too. He can play 6, but more likely he'll go into the 2nd row and Ryan will go back row if the change needs to be made.

In order of likelihood, I'd say MOD, Holland, TOD, Nagle, Butler.

I don't like Ryan at 6 so I'd rather see TOD on the bench than MOD.

I don't really see the argument for bringing in a second row for O'Mahony to be honest. I know Micko and Ryan have played at 6 (I think it's nearly 5 years since Micko played there for Munster, Bourgoin in Geneva in 07?). We'd be handicapping the mobility of our backrow by playing himself or Ryan there. We need a backrow to get around the park to hit Williams, Davies and North, and also carry ball. TOD fits that profile. A second row doesn't, in my view.

If there is an argument for Micko or Nagle to come onto the bench, it could be at the expense of O'Callaghan. I didn't think he was great off the bench, but I'd probably stick with him all the same.

Well I definitely think TOD should be there but I think McGahan will put MOD there.

Has POM's jaw injury been confirmed?
Anyone any idea how it happened?

Some reaction to Paul O'Connells performance at the weekend from the Scarlets forum.

Some sour grapes, but its interesting how he might be perceived outside Munster/Ireland...

He took a knee trying to make a tackle on one of the Scarlets' locks. Haven't seen it confirmed anywhere yet.

John O'Sullivan in the Times says that he sustained a 'jaw injury', but doesn't elaborate or say whether he actually broke it or not.

No point in posting the full text because it's only a passing reference.

What cheating is he doing? Besides near taken their wingers head off i didnt see him do anything too illegal. I could have had red tinted glasses on too of course.

Yeah, to be honest, I'd never have had O'Connell down as a cheat. Well on the same level as McCaw anyway, who they compared him with  I didn't really see him do that much at the breakdown either... I'd have counted Quinlan as a bigger "cheat" and Leamy, Varley and POM too.

Just the usual Welsh logic ie the Irish team won so it must be because they're better cheats. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with a dominant pack.

I wonder did Scarlets fans see their team's constant running around the back of the ruck in a bid to slow down the ball on Sat?
It was so blindly obvious on the T.V. I can't believe Poite didn't spot it. Thomas the tighthead was particularly bad for it.

In fairness, there are a good few cool heads on that thread too.

I actually went looking around that board after the game but, I didn't see any mention of it anywhere. There were numerous mentions of our cheating at the breakdown though.

Hope we have even more of that whinging after next Saturday.Actually I'm pretty confident that we will. To be fair there's a few posters here too who seem to lose all sense when it comes to Munster or Leinster .In the real world I've never met any Irish person hoping to see an Irish province lose a game but in these forums I've often been amazed with the venom on display.

I know that it is a pointless point to make but, does anyone think we would have seen DOC2.0 making the squad had he not picked up that injury a few weeks ago. It lookedlikehe was being introduced into the setup at the start of the season and he was registered for the HC too.

Scarlets are one of the most dangerous teams we could play, they know a win would give them back the group and they have a backline that could really damage us. I'm sure we can win, but I'm not confident of it.

Hard to know now, the injury happened at the worst possible time for him. He's clearly in the plans though, he was closer to Pro12 action than Butler, iirc, at the start of the season.

this from the Pro 12 facebook page:

    RaboDirect Pro12

Munster injury news: Peter O'Mahony will miss the Scarlets game - he has a hairline crack in his jaw and will be out for at least 2 weeks.

It's a possiblity, I suppose. But TOD has looked good in all his appearances this year and seems to be favoured over Butler as a sub at this stage.

2 weeks...could be a lot worse. Miss the HC game but at least Leamy's in good form to come in now. And he'll be back for the last 2 games then after Christmas.

And nothing on Botha's injury which is a massive relief.

    Or babbling brook?

Every forum has it's share of bad eggs. I'd say the more insular it is, the worse it is, having people from different sides keeps it a bit balanced.

So are you saying that you see some bile but not the same amount or are you saying there's no bile?

wixfjord, phog: you're like two bickering biddies! :D

It's great to hear that POM is only out for 2 weeks, had it been a broken jaw it could have been 5/6.
