I was just thinking of the perfect strike partner for suarez and I have the perfect foil for him

    Ian Rush!

Anyone think he would fancy coming out of retirment

Lads, let's give big Andy a chance to grow a huge 'tache first, eh? Patience is required.

No bans were handed out for both these gestures by English internationals..

This above incident also went uncharged by the FA!

Another waste of money on a poor transfer*.

*By which I mean that Blu-Ray uses the same master as the DVD and thus is no better in quality than the cheaper option of an upscaled standard definition disc.

Depends on whether you got the more recent blu ray release or the original French release. The 2008 release is far better in terms of PQ than the UK release that came out this year. Plus the 2008 is the full cut of the film and not the shorter version that was used for the UK release.

Cracking film that was made even better by the uncut longer version.

Perhaps if Suarez gets a 3 match ban from the FA, we should consider appealing to UEFA. A precedence has been set.

I think the AUF appealing to the FA on Suarez's behalf would be closer.

Suarez will most likely be fined. The above incidences in the photos of Cole and Rooney didn't even receive fines let alone bans. If Suarez is indeed banned it will show the English FA as the xenophobic organisation we all know it is.

I doubt Suarez will get a game ban for the finger gesture.

Just a court appearance and a hefty fine.

That's a shocking version of a great chant. The words don't even fit. Was at a St Pauli game a few months back, it was unreal with the whole terrace chanting it

Have to laugh at some Liverpool fans on RAWK and that moaning about Celtic robbing YNWA. Both the Suarez and Lucas song were sung (Celtic versions) at Parkhead long before Anfield, and obviously Fields of Athenry/Anfield Rd

you muggins, they're songs to tunes that are used in football stadiums all over Europe, whereas Celtic took another club's anthem and just decided to sing it. It's like Sunderland deciding to start singing Forever Blowing Bubbles.

    Big deal.

Who gives a flying f*ck about Celtic or their songs. Celtic robbed the Suarez chant of someone else(city were the first club I heard using it in Britain btw) and someone originally robbed it from Depeche Mode. That's the way these things work in the intriging world of football chants.

Btw, RAWK is a ridiculous site, full of complete gowls

Fields of Athenry isn't used in football stadiums all over Europe to my mind.

I know they are, hence why my issue was with other people moaning about that's our chant etc as oppose to the chant being sung by different sets of fans.

The Lucas chant is a great chant, but those words in that one don't fit at all

So what, it was originally a song from a bloody musical? Roger and Hammerstein are the real victims here.:pac:

As above, my issue isn't with singing Celtic's or anyone else's chants, its with people moaning about others stealing their chants. Also, fairly sure Celtic fans were singing it before City, but open to correction

Regarding RAWK, yea completely agree. Was reading on it earlier where someone was giving off about Celtic singing YNWA, hence why I posted the above response

Liverpool fans have changed the words. So have Bohs fans.

Ireland fans sing it. Rugby fans sing it.

Just noticed the bolded part. Celtic started singing it after the Memorial game. If anything that's a tribute to Liverpool's fans

your point was it was hypocritical of Liverpool fans to moan. They've never stolen a chant from Celtic afaik. They may have used a tune after Celtic have, but never taken a club anthem and sung it word for word.

    No worries.

Was sure City were singing it the season before Celtic but I'll stand corrected.

You get all sorts on RAWK, best avoided imo.

And it is hypocritical. Changing a word or so makes fook all difference. Anyway, as I said, it should be considered a tribute if anything, and if you're going to continue with this whole stole it word for word lark, well what about the fans of 'Carousel'?? Wouldn't they have a similar claim against Liverpool?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,833 ✭✭✭podge018

why did the fans of Carousel write and perform it originally? You're some piece of work. I'm done here.

I read it every now and again, never joined though. I can usually bare about a few minutes of it, before getting that annoyed at the utter ****e I see on it, that I have to have a read of redcafe or grandoldteam for balance, to reassure myself that every club has their very own of that particular breed
