Drop into GamersWorld near the Jervis Luas stop, has a great selection of cards (and some old ones to buy/trade) and usually afew players round. There is also Friday Night Magic there every friday evening and also gaming groups (Underground Gamers, Dublin Gaming Guild) on some weekday evenings, ask instore what groups are in when.

SubCity off Georges St also has a few boxes knocking round, and 4 boosters for €13 is hard to beat. And if your desperate, most GAME stores have some intro packs and boosters but they are quite expensive.

Also, the latest set of cards (Innistrad) is having a pre-release in GamersWorld this weekend and official release next weekend, could be a good time to meet some like minded players.

hey man. Yeh Gamersworld is probably your best bet to come out and get some casual game time in. as you've already been told, FNMs are done on Friday nights, usually from about 7pm onwards. these are the most relaxed form of magic that the shop runs so they would be a good place to come in and start. you pay €20 and get 6 boosters to make a 40 card deck out of and then play 4 rounds against random opponents. its good fun and a great way to meet the people in here.

As mentioned above, there is an Innistrad prerelease on this weekend on saturday and sunday. although this will be a big day, it might not be the best time to come and play for the first time in a while. prereleases tend to be pretty crazy numberwise, and you might not be able to get any help you might need, purely due to numbers.

You should definitely come in for an FNM some night though, its the Friday nights that they really look after new players and teach them the ropes of things they dont know.

Good luck with it mate! hopefully see you around the shop sometime!

Hey there, new player here as well. Just wanted to know on those friday game nights do you get to keep the cards that you get with the €20? If so that's a pretty good deal and might head down this friday to get pointers off people :) How many people are usually there these days?

hey man, yes you do indeed get to keep the cards. unfortunately due to changes recently and economical situations, the price has gone up for the FNM. not sure what it went up to, but im pretty sure its not €20 anymore anyway. probably would be still worth your while to go down if you're looking for pointers and the likes :)

Was €25 around a month ago when I went, since its €24 for 6 boosters there anyways its not bad for an evening of Magic-ing.
