Pretty sure I heard more thunder here last night, lights are gone this morning anyway.

Heavy snow on the hills overnight as well, only a grass covering of what is probably hail here but my path back to letterkenny is blocked by a jackknifed lorry at the moment.

2.1C Snow confined to the hills and even the snow on them isn't a deep white just a covering.
A typical 'expecting snow but got none event'!

Quite a lot of snow in the hills of South Armagh this morning especially Camlough Mtn. Can see the Mournes from a distance and they look to be very well covered. Large ominous clouds forming as I left tis morning. A couple of showers lower down but mostly staying above 100 m.

Snow lying on some of the hilltops in Kilkenny, in particular, western Kilkenny which got the brunt of the showers.

Had snow showers here but not enough for lying snow.

Snowed on and off for most of the night. Light covering of snow this morning on all surfaces. A few more showers this morning one which was heavy. Sky now clear and thaw starting. The Mournes and Dromara hills have a lovely covering.

Surprisingly deep snow cover in the hills this morning, heaviest between Fintown and Meenaroy as usual, at a guess not far off 10cm in places

A couple of pics from just outside Fintown, the bus was moving at the time so about as good as I could do!

Bit of lying wet snow on cars this morning here in Athlone, quickly dissapated after a brief and heavy sleet shower about an hour or so ago.
