hello,

i have an ipad 1 thats currently jailbroken

its firmware is 4.2.1(8c148)

but latley with certain apps coming out it wont let me download becuase they are only compatible with a higher ios

please see pics for example.

my question is with ios 5 now out if i am going to break the current jailbreak , to then jailbreak again,then rather then just go up to 4.3 should i not just go up to ios5 now and if so can i jailbreak it on ios5 or should i stay where i am.

You can Jailbreak iPad 1 on iOS 5 but it will be tethered though.

using the semi-tether app now on my jailbroken iphone 4 (ios5.0.1) and it's very good...
I wouldn't have bothered with a tethered one as it's a major PITA if you need to reboot or it powers down but now at least it will power up and you've full access to everything bar mail/safari and cydia. Which I can live with

Although I did turn on the safari patch which allows you to use that as well but it does open the phone to some exploits...but then again...who's gonna be hacking my phone out and about

Hi, i am going to get a tablet and really like the ipad2 but before i buy one can somebody please tell me can i use if for betting sites like bet365 without flash?I'm sorry for the stupid question as i don't know alot about tablets and only want to use it for films and betting.

Paddy Power, Betfair and SkyBet have iPad apps and Bet365 have a mobile site which will display fine in Safari

Hmm have you any more information about this? My iphone is running ios 5 04.11.08 and have been looking out for a way to jailbreak it however am a bit aprehensive about it. I am not very technical but might manage if there is a good guide. Also im afraid I will do something terrible and ruin the phone! Can it be reverted to unjailbroken if needs be? I like the idea of a semi-tethered jailbreak as opossed to tethered.

Hey all
Friend got iphone 3gs 32g second hand but there has been a problem it cant find network singal. The iphone had 5.1 firware and baseband 06.15.00 jailbroken installed ultrasnow but the phone couldnt get a singal.

Hat i did
i downgrade the firware to 4.2.1 by
frist downloading fw 4.2.1
ran tinyumbrella 5.01 Tss server( did this as i found it stoped any errors happing)
put iphone in duf mood
open itunes, itunes went to restore holded shift button and clicked restore ( no problems)
Iphone restored and went to emergency mode ( so need activation)
put iphone in duf mood
Ran greenpois0n firist ( did this to for hackactivation iphone and think makes untethered)
put iphone in duf mood
ran Redsnow 0.9.9b 8 ( open as admin)
enter to extra screen
select IPSW fw 4.2.1
enter jailbreak put iphone in duf mood
Iphone restarts it is hackactivated and runing cydia
Run cydia eneter manage, sources , reppo66 and intstall ultrasnow
reboot
ultrasnow has unlocked phone
if you toggle with the airplane mode, turn on airplane mode with sim in then take sim out turn airplane off and instert sim the iphone reconigised the carrier
But cant find network keeps seraching
if you turn the 3g funition off it will go to No service

Rang vodafone today to see if imei is blacklisted its not
also brought it to a phone fixer guy and he said he also is havin problem with this to

Had this EXACT issue on a friends phone the other day... install and run red snow. click on install cydia (as if you are doing a fresh jailbreak) then let that run. worked fine for me after that.

Had jail broke an iphone 4 for my brother.. I think I had 4.3.1 on it.. he updated to 4.3.3 true itune ages ago(removed unlock) he got a new iphone off contract, gave his old one to a friend, who maybe tried jailbreaking it, but failed as I have the phone now and it just stuck and has the apple logo on it.
i have use sn0wbreeze to make a new ipsw on it, I tried 4.3.1 on my desktop got it info dfu mode, when I try to use the image recover in itunes it unpacks the hacked ispw and then give a 3194 error, I have done the sn0wbreeze on the 4.3.3 and I get the same error. any ideas lads?
** I also tried redsn0w and loaded up the non hacked ipsw(both 4.3.1 & 4.3.3) and as it progresses the status bar just kinda gets stuck at "installing cydia"

it depends if you have shsh flies store on if you have them store you should be able to downgrade grade

i got 3194 before you just have to make sure you can downgrade to correct FW

Did you edit the host files?

Also ifyou run tinyumbrella and strat the tss sever this can help then lunch itunes

If i bring a iphone 4 locked to at&t back to ireland will i need to bring the at&t sim with me back to ireland to get it unlocked or will they be able to do it without the sim??

Here is my suitation, I *think* the iphone was updated to 4.3.5 or 4.3.3. it lost its unlock.
got the phone back after someone tried to jailbreak it, basicly no firmware on it,
I load up tiny umbrella & start the tss server,
I load up itunes & shift+restore and select a fresh 4.3.3. it fails then 4.4.5 it fails too, itunes gives the error of 2005 or 3194, I try with my hacked ipsw made in sn0wbreeze & I get the same errors.
if I try redsnow to use its host it says its running, but itunes give the 3194 error. any ideas lads on what im not doing right?
its just bugging my that I can't get any FW loaded

Have you tried FixRecovery43.exe?

You need to run that if downgrading the OS, it often fails otherwise.

So here is what I have done, first put the phone in dfu, ran fixrecovery.exe, after that i loaded up tinyumbrella & started the tss server.
then i loaded up itunes & let it checked the iphone firmware, and then I shift clicked restore & selected version 4.3.1 itunes gave me a gernal 2005 error?

try restore to 4.1, apple were signing it recently so maybe they still are

is there any reason why you want to restore to 4.3.3 other than an untethered jailbreak
