Some fanciful nonsense about Anelka back to Liverpool bouncing around.

Not sure I'd be a fan of him coming back. If it was a free and some kind of pay as you play deal then maybe but otherwise no thanks.

Anelka is allowed leave in Jan but its most likely going to be to the MLS

We need a really decent draw in the FA cup, 6 PL games in December, then 4 PL games in January, along with the double header semi against Man City and 1 FA cup game, could really do with being able to rotate on that.

    yes, he is IMO.

i don't know why, if we never planned to play to his strengths.

the expectations are ridiculous because of the price-tag, which isn't his fault. if he was bought for what he was worth, 10-12m say, taking into account his injuries, he's been just fine.

i praise him when he deserves it. the only outstanding game he's had is the City game last season. he's been fine in many others.

he should've had the winner last week after only coming on in the 84th minute. he's had a couple of other games like that, where he's come on, had an impact, but has been met with a crossbar or an epic keeper.

this week at Chelsea, apart from the penalty miss, he was actually very good - he worked hard, had neat touches, and should've scored. my only problem with him is he isn't playing high enough up the pitch; but that's not all his fault. because of the way we're playing, it's one of the only ways he can get involved.

he has wreaked havoc in many games. for instance, at corners, where we have to whip the ball in really, he wins the majority of those headers due to his height and power. that should be a hint as to what he's capable of, given the right service.

he does, because the pressure will only grow from fans.

if we start playing to his strengths more regularly, and we play him more often, there is no doubt in my mind he would start scoring pretty regularly.

According to this Liverpool are trying to get Andy in some sort of decent shape, I don't know how true this is but i agree with it none the less.

For a big fella he is pretty weak and soft.

His lifestyle can only be hindering his career at Liverpool, this would really anger me if i was Liverpool fan, for £35 million you would expect him to put the drinking on the side and concentrate on getting into shape and performing to a decent level.

IMO he will never justify his price tag but he is taking the piss out of the club and its fans with his lifestyle.

Do pay as you play deals even exist? I though it was just a term made up by united fans to justify buying Michael Owen.

He was pretty strong against your defense during the week.

Good draw, by no means should we take anyone in the FA cup lightly but we just need to be able to rest our top players.

    Southend or Oldham btw.

3pm on saturday would be the best bet. Can't see it being televised.

Yes. Have a look at the thread in this forum about Blackpool paying a player £90 per week.

Re: Anelka coming back, yes please. Not bloody likely though as he's the wrong side of 30, will have high wage demands and Chelsea will be reluctant to strengthen a direct rival.

I do still think he's class though. An outstanding finisher, still quite pacey and a great eye for a pass as well.

Yeah heard the guy saying that after the draw, but was wondering bout the exact date and time....have a Sociology exam at half 3 on the 7th....cue the Liverpool game being set as a 3 p.m kick-off on the same day.
    :(

Everton are also at home, so one team will have to switch.
Any particular reason you're looking forward to this match so much?

^^^^more than likely 3pm on Sat. And it wouldnt surprise me if there were no streams/tv and only Radio broadcast.

Everton are playing on the 4th of Jan in the league, we are playing on the 3rd, so if common sense prevails (who knows), we will be Sat, they will be Sun.

Dont know how its decided who plays on Sat/Sun.edit(Ah, just saw your other post)
Think you will need to tune in a local merseyside radio channel to get any coverage.

No particular reason TBH. I enjoy the atmosphere of the FA cup, probably more than the premiership and try to watch as many of the games as possible...add in Liverpool and I was looking forward to seeing it.

Actually it's probably more being p*ssed off and complaining about a Saturday exam than worried about missing the game.:D

Post that joke about Hargreaves and see if any City fans show up.

Just delighted to get a home draw tbh.

Last years draw away to utd was horrible.

In spells he looked half decent but to be honest he looked labored more often than not IMO.

That missed penalty put another dent in his confidence, i don't think the signs with big Andy are good to be honest. I don't think he will ever amount to anything special at Liverpool. The way Liverpool play doesn't suit him, Andy is a big lump, if ye were to hoof long balls up to him constantly maybe ye would get some joy, i cant see him being able to adapt to any other style.

You should be worrying about your job at West Brom Roy and stop posting on boards.

Not to mention away draws in each of the last three rounds of the League Cup.
