I know who have fully torn knee ligaments have never gotten up and walked around let alone tried to run, Usually in far too much pain!

The knee can't function with a full tear of a ligament surely!?

    Could be medical ligament?
yes it can , i had the exact same thing , got up tried to walk it off for a few mins , then the pain progressively got worse and couldnt use the knee at all 10 mins later, its only when initial shock wears off you realise you may of done serious damage.

If we want to win it we would have to beat them. I think it's a good draw tbh.

    Bring it on.

Not sure why you think its a good draw.. surely better to play them in the final...its a while since we reached a final full stop, i'd have rather avoided them in the semis.

And we'll sure as hell deserve our first trip to Wembley since 96 if we can get two results over them!

If they're going to beat us, I'd prefer for it to be in the semi rather then the final

We have a better chance of beating them over 2 legs than in a one off final....surely the 2 other teams you would rather meet in the final?

I must be the only one not delighted with the draw then :(

well with 6 games in december and now 7 in January we could of done with a team we can possibly rotate against. But **** it, bring em on.

Anyone who thinks City can't be beaten should reconsider why they support Liverpool Football Club. Two legs is ideal, and then a final against a Championship side. What's to moan about?

No, you're not. Its ludicrous to suggest we have more chance of beating them over two legs than one. They have a stronger squad, we've just drawn against them at HOME, and we are now without one of our best two players for the forseeable future. The chances of beating them over 90 mins is greater than over 180 minutes. The longer matches/ties go on, the more likely the stronger side come through imo.
I'd much rather have avoided them considering the Lucas news in particular..also it would give him more of a chance to be fit for the final - we don't know the extent of his injury yet.

Nobodys saying they can't be beaten, just would rather a much easier route to the final and play them there.

Playing them in the league on the 3rd as well, so 3 times in January.

When does the transfer window open? Jan 1 i presume?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

I think the psychology of playing them in the semi-final suits Liverpool more than City as it happens.

The semi final dates are 9th January and 23rd January so if Lucas is out for the rest of the season there is time for reinforcements.

City are probably gonna turn into the new Chelsea for us. Expect to play them about fifty times over the next couple of years!!

Now that it's sunk in that we've got City, i actually can't wait. Two big night atmospheric matches to look forward to in the New Year.

    Bring on your Manchester City...!!!
Bring on your cockneys by the score,
And we'll take them two by two,
And kick the **** out of you
Cos Liverpool are the team that we adore.

Im currently recovering from surgery after completely tearing my ACL back in March.

I posted this yesterday but the second challenge (the one with Mata) was very similar to what happened me in the way it was the left knee bent inwards.

If you have ever really really badly sprained or torn ligaments in your ankle, thats the best way of describing the pain except its in your knee. I was on the ground for a good three minutes anyways, close to actually getting sick. The pain is that bad.

So if somehow Lucas was able to hobble about straight after with a torn ACL he really is some beast.

The first knock imo, might not have been that serious. My worry is the second collision looked much worse and the way Lucas reacted showed he was in more pain this time.

Saying all this though, I was back walking after three minutes or so and just thought it was a mild sprain. I found out a month later that I tore my ACL and that was only after returning to training and it breaking down again in the middle of that training.

To sum it up....we really dont know until he has the scan. :pac::(

What's the pain like when you do your knee ligaments? Is it like a fire in your knee or something?
